I have had this multi-function printer for 10 months now, and I find it very reliable and good value for money. It is quite a large machine measuring 45cm width, 43.4cm depth and height 45.7cm, it weighs 16.7kg so once you know where its going it is better to stay there, rather than move about. The functions are copying, printing, scanning and faxing.
Copying - digital type, speed up to 22ppm, resloution up to 600 dpi, maximum enlargement is 400% and reducement 25%, maximum copies is 99 and you can copy text or photos.
Printing - this is a laser monochrome with max speed upto 22 ppm.
Fax - compatability G3, maximum speed 33.6 kbps, memory upto 320 pages, resolution 300x300 dpi, data compression system- MH,MR,MMR,JBIG,JPEG. It has one touch dialing for upto 40 entries and speed dialing for upto 200 entries.
The feeder tray holds 250 A4 size paper and there is an indicator to let you know how much paper left, and it bleeps when empty. The top feeder tray, for faxing or copying holds upto 50 sheets of paper. There is an lcd display to let you know what the machine is doing eg copying, receiving a fax etc. There is PC connection - Parallel, hi-speed USB or ethernet.
It also has a direct usb connectivity where you can do direct scan-to usb memory or direct printing from usb memory.
When the machine has been used there is a slight 'humming' noise but then it goes to 'sleep' so then there is no noise.
The ink cartridges are available in 3K or 5K, mine is used everyday and a 5K lasts me 2 months. You can buy from Samsung or there are others out there who can provide them (as yet I have stick with Samsung), they cost approx £23.
I use the machine in my home/office and would recommend to anyone who needs all the functions regularly, as said before I think it is a reliable machine from a good brand.
