The Samsung SF-365TP is a fax machine which does everything and is very versatile; well for me it does everything. It scans, it prints, it copies, it can be used as a telephone and it has an answering machine. Everything you need for your office at the touch of a button.
In this day and age not everyone uses a fax machine, but I still tend to find them very important when corresponding with clients and as a fax machine the Samsung SF-365TP has a 2.0mb memory and takes approximately 6 seconds to send one page of A4 paper, the more graphics you do fax to someone the longer it will take, but on the whole I find it to be suitably fast. It has a modem speed of 14kbps which for any fax machine is adequate enough and there is a junk fax barrier which means if someone tries to send you a fax which you have earmarked as junk it will not be printed meaning you save lots of ink.
To send a fax it is very easy to use, you simply put your A4 pieces of paper into the holding rack at the top and dial the number to send, the noise level on this machine I find to be less irritating than previous fax machines. A date and time stamp is automatically put onto any fax that you send and there is a speed dialling option if you prefer and it can be set up very quickly. If there is a fax number which you use most often this can be stored within the 100 number storage options. When receiving a fax there is an indicator button which flashes to let you know you are about to receive a fax but it works pretty much the same way as every other fax machine in that it will ring and then begin to print.
As a copier and printer this little machine is also a good back-up for any office because it has the capability to copy anything you choose to put through it and it will copy A4 pages and as a printer it has a printing speed of 4 pages per minute of A4 black and white text at a range of 600pmi. The one thing it doesn't do is print in full colour, it is only black and white. The paper tray on the machine holds up to 50 sheets of A4 plain paper and not glossy paper and in the top handling rack you can put approximately 10 sheets of A4 paper in for when you need to. The black ink cartridge which it did come with prints up to 250 pages because it is a starter ink but when you need to replace that ink a full cartridge should print in the region of 750 pages.
The answering machine is also another useful feature if you set this up to use it as a telephone as well and the answering machine hosts a recording time of 30 minutes which I have found to be plenty long enough for my needs. You can choose not to use it as a phone/answering machine too if you feel the need.
I bought my Samsung SF-365TP from Comet at a price of £79.95 and you can shop around to see if you can find yourself a better deal online. To replace the cartridges once they are empty you can expect to pay £29.99 or something in that region.
Overall I am really happy with this fax machine and I recommend to anyone who works at home or in an office environment.
