Samsung SF 5100D3 - toner cartridge

Advantages: Low Cost, economical to run and refill
Disadvantages: slightly noisy

...I wanted to buy a decent printer which doesnt cost a lot and has low running cost. So i searched around on the net. Found some good reviews for this one. Bought mine from the printerland website. arrived in a couple of days. Installation took practically no time at all. But that was on Windows XP. It does come with a Vista driver CD and printer software. But there is no printer cable included. Also the starting cartridge was a 1000 page one. The main advantage is the printer cartridge can be refilled easily without much hassle and its much cheaper than buying new toner cartridges. It also has a toner saver mode Its supports duplex printing ( printing on both sides of the paper) but its not automatic. Can't actually expect at this price. Hope this review helps. ...This printer is a damn good bargain at under £80, i've had mine a while and it just keeps on churning out printed pages without running out of toner. The following info may be useful - It installs automatically in windows xp - Once warmed up it will throw out far more than 12ppm. - The tones cartridge will last like 5000/6000 prints depending on the brand - You can pick up new toners for £35 if you dont buy official samsung ones - It can be a bit loud, but only on warming up to a print - It rarely jams, so dont worry about that, unlike some other cheap lasers, i've had 1 jam in 500 pages! - Samsung branded printers are known as being far more reliable than other brands... Advantages: Quick and quiet.

...We've had our Samsung for a number of years now. We've been really pleased with how well it's stood up well to use by both our 6 year old and our 3 year old. The children print pictures and text, as well as (seemingly) every page of the Disney website. It is a solid machine that is quiet, quick, and has a high print quality. The toner can be expensive, but it is possible to buy toner replacement and use that, which works just as well for as long a time as a new cartridge would. It is small and therefore fits easily into our restricted computer area, and the software is simple to install and use. We have never had any trouble with our Samsung.... Read review
