It took me ages to find this phone...? I wanted to buy a none fippy Samsung phone. Strangely enough, this cool little phone is only sold in very limited places. I got mine on contract from Phones4U, and I haven't really seen it elsewhere!
Now, I'm not one for this technical jargon so you'll have to bear with this down to earth review.
The C1OO is brilliant in it's own right. It's a very swarve looking little thing that weighs so little, I keep losing it in the recesses of my pocket. It's so slim as well, and the battery life isn't too bad either. I can be using constantly for a whole 2 days and it'll still be going fine.
It's colour screen lights up a dull day! It's so bright and colourful, and with the choices of backgrounds and stuff, you'll always get a
new look for your phone. The shades and colours that this phone offers is a real selling point for the phone, giving it the option of having real life stills as a background. I'm sure if you did more thorough research, there's the option for having a camera fitted to the phone...? I wouldn't want that though, cos it's already lovely in it's own right! :)
There are a huge variety of ringtones ranging from completely bizarre (cats miaowing to the theme of Chopsticks?!) to the pretty decent sounds of say the Carmen suite by Saint Saens. Okay, so it's a bit on the classical side, but the sound quality of the actual ring is brilliant! :) Melodies and harmonies working together without jarring. Excellent! The text message tones are particulary impressive. I like number 2 the best. It's just really cheeky and funny to hear, especially if you get text messages all the time.
The phone itself is pretty easy to navigate. If you're used to a Nokia, it's pretty easy to covert to using this phone. The side up and down key is particularly useful for going up and down for the menu selctions, cos the central direction keys can sometimes be a little difficult to press. The menus work by going up and down to select the different options, but when you get really used to the phone, just selecting the number of the options will get you to your destination a lot quicker.
Texting is quite hard to get to grips with on this phone, but once you've got it, it's not too bad. It's just the fact that you can't turn off the predicitive textmessaging that gets me, and the symbols and stuff aren't where you expect them to be, but it's alright after a while. Another annoying thing is that it the phone doesn't automatically save your sent message, and you actually have to select the option for doing so in order to find out what you've previously said! Irritating, but it's easy enough to do! A good thing about texting is that it automatically converts long text messages (ie those that come in 2 text messages of over 160 symbols) to just the one text message! Very handy! Especially when the messages are really really long! :)
There's a really odd thing about this phone, and that's it's responsiveness. Sometimes you press the keys and they respond really quickly, but then other times there's a second delay. A little annoying at times, especially when typing out text messages in a hurry, but it's not really that irritating.
Conversation quality is pretty good, with decent clear conversation even with low signal. Another little annoying thing is the echo that occasionally materiallises. You can hear yourself twice sometimes? It's odd.
It has good games! There's one called "Honey Ball" that is a brilliant time waster. It's the one where there's a ball that bounces and gets rid of all the blocks? The bowling game is really good! You have to control a little girl that does your bowling for you, and once you get to grips with it, you'll feel like a professional! :)
This little thing has also met the floor several times and still looks in top condition as well, so it's a pretty strong little thing. I feel really bad every time it meets the floor though.... :( OoOoh, no actually, recently I accidently dropped it onto concrete....a bit scratched, but other than that, it's survived! :)
So yeah, it's a good phone. I really like it, it's easy to use, has really pretty colours, and just looks great. Well reommended! :)
