I've used a lot of phones so I know a little about them. The first thing I have to say is that if you want a phone to sound, look and be good then this phone has a lot to offer. Its very thin, sleek, design and smooth edges make it very easy and nice to use.

The screen is bright and the images on the phone are very clear (performing of a quality that phones about twice the price only begin to do).

The ringtones of the phone are very clear and have a very melodic sound to them and can be very loud (but different polyphonic ringtones will vary in sound level on any phone). Again, The quality is to be compared with phones well above its price range. This allows for you to download your own ringtones and supports .mmf file formats. That means that quality is quite high. It's not real music quality such as wav or mp3 but some of the sounds are really quite good since the Samsung C100 uses the same sound capabilities as the Samsung E400 and E700.

Text Messaging is a little odd at first for someone who has a background such as myself of using nokia and sagem phones. It's not difficult - just different. I send a lot of text messages so this is really important to me that it's easy to use. Text input is fine but the phone is let down a bit here by the fact that it does not learn new words. However, it does have the capacity to store 50 messages on the phone as well as any additional ones on the sim card.

The phone supports EMS so you can send simple graphics or sounds to other phones as well as changing the way the text looks.

You can put pictures on the phone which can be done through an infra red port on the side if the other end is connected to a PC. So, although it doesn't support MMS you can still put your own images on the phone.

Games can be downloaded to the phone. At least if you get bored of the old crop of 4 games that come with the phone then you can chaneg them later. I really mess about with the phone and can say that some of them games out there are really worth putting on the phone. My only disappointment is that its not as easy it should be to remove them because the phone tends to retain the game information on it even when deleted.

The phone also supports an organiser calander function for storing important dates or appointments. It also has a to do list and calculator function as well.

Another useful feature supported by the phone is the ability to store numbers in the phone itself of which you can add about 250. You can give different ringtones to people depending on which group they belong to.

Overall, this is very functional phone with some really good features that punch the socks off most phone about this price. If it has faults its probably because if you want this level of capability from a phone then perhaps you want to spend a fair bit more on a phone. It's not perfect, but for the cost of it it, it is doing everything you could do with a phone so it shouldn't let you down.

Smasung have also provided support for the phone if you fancy using a PC with it in the form of a program called EasyGPRS. You might use this so you can put ringtones or graphics on the phone. You can also have a back up version of your phonebook on the PC.

Welcome to Ciao. This is a pretty good first review. If you would just add something about price (you say good value but don't give details) and let me up I'd up my rating to VH. Cheers, Duncan
