My new mobile phone ************************* I currently have a phone contract with O2, with the contract about 10 months ago I got a Nokia N73, I chose this as I had always had Nokia and they work the same so I knew my way around or so I thought…… but maybe not, to cut a long story short O2 have messed up a few of my bills and every time they try rectify this its still not correct so a few weeks ago my husband called them and complained and to keep me as one of their valued customers they agreed to upgrade me early.
My husband knew that I had been wanting a pink phone and as I was out at the time he chose the Samsung SGH-D900i in a very girly pink, although a little apprehensive that it was Samsung and I had not used one before I was willing to give it a fair chance especially as the Nokia N73 took a little getting used to and I had heard from girls at work that the Samsung was relatively straight forward to use.
My new phone arrived I was really excited the colour was fab it is a must for any girly girl, it is very slim and easily slips into any handbag it is about half the size of the N73.
Setting up my phone *********************** I inserted the sim and battery in my new phone which was very straight forward and easy but if you struggle there is a set of instructions, I then plugged in the charger, the socket on the phone is behind a little door at the bottom right side (very well disguised) i left it to fully charge.
Once fully charged the battery should last (according to Samsung) 250 hours in standby and 3.5 hours talk time but if you use it for playing games and web access then this will use your battery up a little quicker so how often you need to charge it will depend on how you use it.
All my contact numbers I saved to my sim card to save transferring to my phone to make it easy, and away I go.
Some features of my new phone ************************************ My new phone has so many features I don't even use some of them and if I list them all you will be bored so I will list the ones I most use and the rest you will see in the technical information at the end.
TEXT - I am one of those people that uses predictive text so I had to find out how to put this on and it wasn't easy as it wasn't in the manual so if any of you looking this is a step by step how its done and keys you will need to know :-
Go into create message - in the top right you will notice a small orange oblong box with ABC if you hold down the * key this will change to say T9Eab, this means you now have predictive text on - to turn off just repeat the process.
0 (zero) key you need to use to change a word when it is not correct i.e. change GOOD to HOME etc. # Key is used to put a space between words. C which is on the top slider cancels a letter.
You can also receive pictures instead of words when someone sends you a text for example if you get a text saying Good Luck you will receive a picture of a 4 leaf clover, home you get a picture of a house, sad a sad face, dog a picture of a dog and so on. To turn this function on go to Settings - Text Messages - Receiving Options - now change the view as vivid message to say on and save.
CAMERA - this phone has a 3 mega pixel built in camera with flash, I have taken a picture in a disco and must admit that this isn't quite as clear as one taken during the day but am not sure if that was down to how much alcohol I had consumed or not and I haven't used this feature since. You can also take video's which I have done (sober) and on playback on the phone this is quite clear to view and the sound was also ok quality for what I wanted.
GAMES - this phone comes with a range of demo games, I have played Tetris but once you play the first level and complete it you can't go any further without purchasing the game which I haven't bothered to do. Other games include Sonic, Cannonball, Forgotten, Freekick, Arch Angel, and Asphalt.
The phone also features a calendar, alarm, calculator, world clock, converter, stopwatch and a memo page, and out of this list I just like to use the old faithful alarm and I do like to hit the snooze at least twice before I get up then have a mad dash because I am running late!

...minutes. Also on the Samsung website, it says that this phone has a standby time of 320 and talk time of 6.5 hours. That standby time is fine if you're never ever use it or haven't any friends lol but I do not believe that I could talk on the D900I for 6.5 hours before it dies on me. I mean it already lost two bars on 2.5 hours of talktime and a few texts so I think they are being very generous with that estimation.
* All about the calls, the phonebook ... ...one time. Like other new Samsung phones, the layout for texting is similar. You have standard text (SMS), pictures messages (MMS) or email. SMS and MMS go into your inbox but emails go into a separate section.
When creating a text, you can use ABC, 123 or T9 (or what we call predictive text), then you enter the phone number and hey presto, it's sent. There's not really much different between phones when it comes to texting except for where the symbols ...

The camera quality isn't very good, even thought it is 3 megapixels, it is quite blurry and even though it has a flash it can hardly take a photo in the night, the movie feature is the same but you can record for 20mins depending on how much memory you have on your phone. The camera has several effects including - black and white, negative, sepia, emboss, sketch, antique, moonlight and fog, there are also several ... ...can be set to 3 secs, 5 secs or 10 secs. You can set the size of the photo from 240x180 to 2048x1536 and you can have normal, fine or superfine quality.
The battery is average, if you use your phone quite frequently then it needs charging every night and once the battery goes down to 2 of 3 then it won't last very long until it turns itself off. It has an easy to use menu which you can set to grid or standard menu. It stores about 200 text messages ...

I bought my Samsung D900i Chrome at the beginning of this year for £65 off ebay. I wanted an unlocked phone and it was slightly cheaper than I could find it in the shops as they were retailing around £90. It can now be bought for under £70 / £80, so it has come down in price. Samsung is a very trustworthy brand and I've never had any major issues with them so I thought this would be a good investment and I wasn't disappointed been disappointed with ... ...clicky or too small, but Samsung seem to have designed these perfectly. The main screen provides you with a 262k colour display and the necessities are clear when you open the phone: the signal, battery life, message alerts, top two key options and a background of your choice. This mobile phone is a slide one and I got the black version although you can also get a silver one, when it is closed it measures 103.5 mm x 51 mm x 12.9 mm but when you open it it gets roughly 40 mm longer. Before this phone I used to have a Samsung D600 and the ... ...3 megapixel camera and finally Samsung has decided to add an FM radio to their handset (always useful during long train jurneys when you do not have an MP3 player), which unfortunately was not an option with my previous phone or other Samsungs for all I know.

...I will never buy a samsung mobile again. At times where I have needed to check something important info on the internet, a moment where I could of took a priceless photo or video or simply times I needed music to suit my mood, I couldn't do these things because of this feature. The looks of this phone and the password feature on files and messages are the only positive things I can think of for it. A stylish, slim line, attractive mobile phone, with excellent picture quality and fantastic sound quality. The look of the phone is extremely stylish, and is light to hold, without feeling like it might break in your hand. It does not sit too heavily either and can eaily be navigated through by just using the one hand. The features are excellent, by far the best Samsung have had so far (in my opinion anyway). The D900 phone is a sleek and very slim slide-design phone, packed with plenty of features to keep all forms of life happy. The black, sleek look and feel of the phone makes it easy to hold, and the size makes it easily pocket-sized. With the facility to record all the recieved and sent calls from your phonebook, and the ability to link pictures and speed-dial numbers to your contacts makes this phone very useful. The SMS inboxes also are well laid out, and the ability of multiple recipient lists makes sending messages to several people really easy.
The 3.0MP camera has reasonably high quality, and also has a flash facility, which can double-up as a light. The quality of pictures is reasonable, but can be a bit tedious, as you do need to keep the camera set on the image for about 5 seconds for the image to develop.

I have been the proud owner of the slim and sleek SamsungSGH-D900 for over 2 months now and I have been extremely satisfied with all its features.
From a female perspective I believe this phone is ideal for those women who like slim and sexy phones that they can slip comfortably into their pockets or handbags and it wont stick out like a sore thumb.
I have the chrome version which gives the phone both a shiny and sophisticated appearance. With regards to its features I rate the 3.0 mega pixel camera as its best asset. It provides top quality images and videos that can be amended with some cool editing tools within the phone.
Although I suggest this phone to be more suitable to women it does still maintain masculine features such as its wide screen display and good sized key pads.
