I had previously had the D500, about eighteen months ago, so I knew they were reliable, the menus were easy to use and the specifications are usually good for the price. This phone and the previous Samsung I had were quite different as the E250 is a slim phone but the screen and buttons are slightly wider, but the sliding mechanism is the same as it the overall modelling of the phone.

After my Nokia 7373 broke, I should say after I broke it, but that's not something to go into now, I realised I was still paying for a £35 a month contract and getting no benefit so I went in search in a new phone. The problem is now when you buy a pay as you go phone that so many of them are network locked, so I knew I was far better off buying a phone on the right network. Better safe than sorry. I didn't think I was in any great rush to buy a phone but one lunchtime after a particularly bad morning at college, I decided to pop along to the local Tesco and have a look for a new phone. The choice was relatively limited but amongst the usual tat I noticed something that I quite liked. It was a Samsung E250.
The phone looks attractive, the black styling creates a very sleek and elegant look. There is a silver strip above the screen which covers the upper speaker adding to the fashionable appearance. There is the familiar Samsung logo beneath the screen and then a ridge which is used to slide the screen. There is then a central OK button which is surrounded by directional buttons, this small group of keys is enclosed with a small silver lining. There are also a left and right selection key on the outside the grouping of innermost buttons, underneath these are the buttons used to accept and decline calls, a green phone on the left and a red phone on the right. The red phone button is also the power key. The last button underneath the screen, between the phone call buttons is the cancel 'C' key. When the phone is slid open the normal telephone pad. On the left hand side of the phone there is a large button which can be used to change the volume, up or down. There is also a microSD slot which is shielded by a small cover which is pulled away from the slot and turned but cannot be removed from phone. On the other side of the phone there is a similar slot which is used for the charger. This phone is available is silver or black and for the first time yesterday I encountered a pink one!
The standby screen of this phone is very dull, the default background is network themed. It shows battery life remaining, if vibration settings are on, whether internet access is available and signal strength at the top of the screen. There is then a thin line which shows the date and time. The network is then shown at the bottom of the screen followed by the options of the soft keys at the sides of the screen, the defaults for these keys are Menu and Contacts. Sadly, the coolest thing about this phone is that when you type in a number to deal it appears in rainbow colour, with each digit being a separate colour, it looks great but really doesn't make any difference to the phone.
The menu on this phone can be shown with a black or white background, both of these are very extreme. The menu is shown in the grid like structure of the keypad, each menu option is shown with a small image. The nice thing about the menu is that when you exit the menu your last selection is saved when you next return.
The camera on this phone is VGA, I looked it up it means Video Graphics Array. I still don't really understand what this means but what I do know is that it produces a very poor picture quality. It is nearly impossible to take a clear picture, everything within the photo becomes fuzzy and blurred. My sister took one picture with my phone, and was shocked, I have not used the camera at all. The phone also has the capability to record short videos but as you may well assume these are also of poor quality. My word of advice if you do have or are going to get this phone make sure you have a decent camera too.
There are a number of applications on the phone, these include § a music player which is actually very loud and produces a good quality sound, this really surprised me from some a cheap and past it phone § a voice recorder which I find I really have no use for, but it is very simple to use and records for an ample length of time § an image editor which I think is more of a game than anything else but can be quite good and produces very amusing results, if you have the phone I would definitely advise checking out this feature § an FM radio, this is nice feature but can only be used when the headset is plugged in, there is also an option to save your favourite stations § Bluetooth § Java world, this is the area where games should be saved, there appear to some games ready and waiting for you but when you have played them each once, they lock and a message appears to tell you that you must now pay to have the whole game installed onto your phone. I think this is awful. § GSM - the internet
There is a Planner icon which drills down to show § Alarm, there are 4 separate alarms which can be used, all can be used on the same day at varying times § Calendar § Memo § World clock § Calculator § Converter, this is a useful feature as there are six elements, currency, length, weight, volume, area and temperature and there are several different measures which can be selected § Timer § Stopwatch
A slightly strange option which appears on the menu of this phone My Folders. This shows you the area you can store images, videos, music, sounds and any other files you may which to store. This also allows you to access anything you may have stored on your microSD.
The other menu options are § Call log, this shows who you have recently called, who has called you, missed calls and call times § Phonebook, each contact can have a mobile phone number, a home number, an office number, a fax, an email address, a photo, a ringtone, be assigned to a group and have notes added § Browser § Settings § Messages, the phone can only store 200 messages but with a reasonable microSD card more can be stored, there is nothing amazing about the message options available with this phone.
So, when you buy this phone the only accessory you get within the box is the headset which connects through the same slot as the phone's charger. A huge range of accessories are available for this phone though, the majority of which can be found using the following link http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/cat/Samsung-E250.htm
This phone cost me £49.99 at the beginning of the year, it is now available at Tesco for £39.99, though I suspect this may be for a limited time. I have seen this phone as pay as you go several times since my purchase and all outlets seem to be selling for approx. £50. This is phone is also available on pay monthly, obviously prices vary.
To sum up how I feel about this phone, it is light, the battery life is good and it does what it needs to but if you are looking for anything special or snazzy then this is not one for you. I would recommend this phone as a gift if someone you know is in desperate need of a phone or if you are. I would also say that this phone would be good for kid because nobody will be too worried if it gets scratched or lost, it's nothing too special to start with. Also if you just want a basic phone that makes calls and can text then this would be perfect for you, you can't make calls when the phone is slid shut, etc. This phone will probably go to my dad when I've finished with it, he's 61, that should give you a good idea of how simple it is.
I recently sold this phone after I started a new contract with a new provider. Someone paid me £10 for the phone, charger, SIM card and accessories at one of my various car boot adventures
Advantages: Beautiful styling, good features, low price. Disadvantages: Poor battery life.
...these requirements perfectly was the Samsung SGH-E250. FIRST IMPRESSIONS
My first impressions of it were really good. It's a stylish looking phone that is really thin, and the front of it slides up to reveal the main keypad. So this should make it more or less impossible to make inadvertent phone calls with it in my pocket or bag. Also the camera is cleverly hidden beneath the slide too, so that the lens will be protected against dust and scratches. ... ...the camera is on the back of the phone) that I thought would make self-taken photos easier and more accurate. It is available in either silver or black, and it was the latter of these two that I chose, due to it looking more grown up and manly than the silver version. There is a simple directional pad for navigating menus and texts, with straightforward up,down, left and right buttons. Price-wise it was well within my budget at £59.99. Perfect! SET-UP

This was my first decent phone that included Bluetooth, reasonable camera, SD card slot to expand phone memory and one that just looked nice.
We paid £49.99 for the phone from the Carphone Warehouse (it came with £10 airtime on Orange). and they were quick to deliver it.
It came in a nice, reasonable sized box with earphones, a charm, mains charger, SIM card, manual and the battery with the phone. For that price, it was excellent to get all that ... ...it was easy to transport if you wanted to keep everything in the box.
Of course the time came when I dropped it on the gravel. To my surprise, the screen hadn't been scratched and it was still working on the file share over Bluetooth! It had left a little scratch on the top of the phone but it was hardly noticeable. Over time I kept dropping it and it still worked. With the phone being lilac, any major scratches were visible but because the phone ...

Samsung SGH-E250 is an up to date silde mobile phone with all the latest technology and functions but won't break the bank.
I bought one of these phones for myself as cheap quick buy because suddenly decided to stop working. I bought this phone for £50 which I thought was a bargain. This phone provides all the latest technology like I said earlier so it has a camera that takes photos and video. Music player do your able to listen to your songs and also has an expandable memory slot for more songs, pics and videos. It also has FM radio so you can listen to your favourite radio stations wherever you are just by plugging in the headset as this acts as an antenna. The phone comes with bluetooth so ...

The Samsung E250 is a bit of a let down to my other phone which broke and I have had a lot of phones but the reasons why it is a good phone are shown below along with a few bad points but every phone has bad points this one has an advantage to other phones.
The fact that it is a slide phone mean that it is helpful for calls all you have to do is just have slide it up and the call is answered. The phone has good reception, which is good because the ... ...phone the better the reception the better the phone actually is.
The phones colour is great and has some depth to it. I have owned many phones and this one is the best by far for colour. The phone has a VGA camera which is ok for videos and pictures the effects that the edit section has are brilliant it allows you to add clipart, frames and emotions. You can also change it to black and white, a negative, Sepia, Emboss and Sketch.
The mp3 player ...

-APPEARANCE and STYLE It has an ultra-slim built in a sapphire blue shell and easy to slide inside the pocket. As a normal snapper, it is comparable to LG Shine model or the latest Samsung G800 but SGH-P600 is surprisingly a light weight gadget with a selection of colours to choice from. With 10.9mm thickness, it is considered as the thinnest mobile available in the market. Weighing 81grams, it is second lightest unit next to SamsungE250 and quite comparable to Sony Ericsson models in terms of weight particularly W350i. It is lighter than the Samsungs U700 and G600. The lightness is a little bit a downside which could be easily slipped from the hands or low pockets. Well, having extra space for other stuffs like keys or coin purse/wallet in the pocket, then it could be prevented from falling/slipping while sitting down.
