I love this phone. I used to use the Virgin mobile Lobster, the really tiny one, but the battery gave up on me, and it was cheaper to buy a new phone.
I bought this phone through Argos, at a respectable price of £40, and it came with a T-Mobile sim card. I chose to keep my Virgin sim card, and it is compatible with the Samsung.
This phone has a really good quality camera for it's size. It has an excellent zoom, which is still relatively clear at full zoom. The camera view can also be flipped horizontally and upside down using the arrows on the side of the phone. There are also a multiple number of camera effects which can be applied such as black and white, sepia tone, blue tone, and other effects you can find on any photo editing software, making phone wallpapers easy to create. There are also a number of fun frames to use like the clown wig, and the disguise glasses. About 30 photos can be stored on the phone's memory without the micro sd card. However, if there are many photos, the number of video space is reduced.
The video quality is satisfactory, good audio and zoom. The colour changing effects that can be applied to photos are also available for video.
The mp3 playback is very impressive and the sound is outstanding. The music can be played through the phone or privately by using the special samsung headphones which come with the phone, also used for hands free calling.
All files can be uploaded and downloaded between phone and pc using a USB data cable. These are relatively cheap, and is a valuable asset for this phone. The software for the phone can be downloaded from the Samsung website.
1,000 contact numbers can be saved in the phonebook, and then usually around 200 on your sim card. These can be transferred between the two. Each contact can be allocated their own photo from the phonebook which is displayed when the contact is calling you, or you are calling them.
When calling, the speakerphone is clear to hear and also clear for the other person on the other end of the line.
The phone also has Bluetooth, Java, FM radio, WAP and calendar options which are all high standard.
Text messages are easy to create and send, predictive text is available, and the phone can hold around 200 messages without a micro SD card. The micro SD cards are cheap enough to buy, but you have to make sure you buy the 'micro' or it will not fit in the phone.
The battery life is excellent and will easily last for a week without charging. However, when the battery is low, many of the features cannot be used, like the camera, video and games. This can be quite annoying, but if you really need to use these features you can easily just charge it up. Charging takes about and hour. Very quick.
Overall, i love this phone and would recommend it to anyone.
