Having been a lifelong Nokia user, the great deal I got for this phone (effectively free providing you fulfill the cashback terms), meant I took a plunge with Samsung for the first time.

The first thing about the phone is that it is darn small 9.5cm x 4cm and although it looks good, this can make it tough to operate at times and if you have big fingers or are a bit clumsy, texting could be tough!

The menu system is driven by one of those 'mini-joystick' things and the 9 options keep the menu to a one-screen operation.

The phonebook is perfectly easy to work, and comes with all the usual data storage options, as well as the chance to create groups if you want to text blocks of people at a time.

The application section is impressive - a 3.0 megapixel camera which offers excellent clarity, as well as an image editor. It also has a voice recorder, fm radio and an excellent music player with good volume - the size and weight means it is handy if you use it to listen to whilst on the move eg. jogging etc.

The phone is bluetooth enabled and has games played on Java, including a nice platform game (in full) called Forgotten Warrior and 5 other demo versions of games, which you have to pay for if you want the full versions.

The Samsung PC studio that comes with the phone (can be downloaded) is excellent and means you can add all your favourite tunes - it's very user friendly.

Battery talktime is excellent - if it weren't for the finicky nature of the buttons which sometimes don't seem to register a 'push', this would be a superb all-round phone.
