My first ever phone was a Motorola on orange about 7yrs ago, but was not all that keen on it so when contract ended I got a nokia and have had a Nokia ever since 3310, 3510, 5140 and my last one was 7250i.
I saw the new Samsung E720 and thought wow, what a cool sexy phone, but I didn't want another contract, but to buy it on pay as you go would cost me nearly £250, so I did alot of research on it and discovered the e700 which is the previous model.
Only two big differences between new version and old one, is that new one is Bluetooth and mp3 player. The older model you can get for about £150 brand new. But because i am a tight arse i decided to check out ebay and after a week of perstistant bidding i got one.
Not only am i a tight arse but was worried bout forking all that money for a phone i may not even like after having nokia phones for the last 6 years.
Having had my new well not exactly new, but new to me on Monday, i saw it n thought wow, cool and sexy.
It's a flip phone with a screen on front so that you can identify who's calling you. When u first pick it up has a blue led clock and date on it, after a while it disappears but u get these cool color dots in different formations just to show you its still alive.
On opening the phone i noticed 2 extra buttons than the Nokia 7250i. These buttons have 3 dots on each one either side of the control panel bit.
There are a few things that i have found hard to get used to. 1st one being the space button the Samsung is under the hash button on my right, where on Nokia was bottom centre. 2nd when texting on Samsung you have ABC mode predictive text every time you text you have to turn it on. I can't find the permanent turn off for it. But on Nokia you could.
Call records This is where you have missed, received, dialled, and call time, this is where you can count how many calls made and received and how long they last for This is pretty much the same as Nokia
Sound settings Ring tone to incoming calls and messages, minute minder key tones or you can have vibration. I have noticed that only certain tones can you have both. When it rings it vibrates on Nokia it would do both.
Phone settings You can say hello to your self have a picture as your background when you open up phone. Pick language, security where you can put code on to stop your kids using your phone if you're like me and leaving lying around. You even have fax mode and infrared
Organizer You can put in memos calendar and to do list clock and alarm have not used my alarm as yet but again the tones are not great on this phone. That is my biggest critisum on this phone. .. .their is very boring.
Network service
where you can divert a call to another number call barring where you can block certain numbers and call waiting which tells you if there is some one waiting to get through to you and also caller id where you can hide your number if you want to.
Fun box WWW.services not used this but i think its internet service, media box where photos images and sounds are stored and memory status. Java world where it has a few games like snow ball fight and bubble smile from www.wap Samsung. Com and games like honey ball go hamster and bowling.
Camera
Wow what a camera, sharp pictures and true colors unlike the nokia and you can even arrange your pictures in to albums i am so impressed with this camera phone!
My service Tells you what net work you are on.
There is a group setting where you can put family friends' partnership office and other in to categories this comes under Management where you can find your own telephone number as well.
What i think is so great about this phone is that it looks stylish cool and very very sexy, you can change covers but need a torx 6 screwdriver and have a different look for every day, but this can be done with 90% of phones. Its light it's meant to have about 5days stand by and 2 hours talk time but i have only had to charge it once this week so far. The screen is much larger than 7250i and much clearer to read, great if you wear glasses don't have to go hunting for them to send a text! And you can control volume and take pictures by using the side buttons.
I am glad i took the chance on the Samsung i was worried that i wouldn't be able to use it but i am sooooo impressed that if it were a man he would almost be perfect lol I am now saving up for the one i wanted originally E720 because that has blue tooth and mp3 and still looks sexy!
I know my phone is not brand new and came from ebay and a bargain at£61 but these phones do seem to scratch easy but this is my first phone with out a case at the moment.
As an extra i bought a data cable where i can transfer my pictures from phone to pc and vice versa and put on some decent ring tones for free this cost me £8 but well worth it because the quality of these pictures are truly amazing! Especially if you had a nokia before hand you can really see a huge difference!
