I bought this phone recently after reading some good reviews on here and the reccomendations of friends. And i'm glad to say that i everyone was right. I love this phone!

A couple of reviews i read mentioned some annoying features of this phone, such as the fact that sometimes you can brush the touch sensitive buttons, cancelling the texts you've just written. I'm not sure if the phone's been upgraded but my phone won't do that, if you accidentally brush the button then it only gets rid of the last letter you typed, and it doesn't happen often at all.

As far as the touch sensitive buttons go, in my opinion they couldn't get much better. They look amazing and they need just the right amount of pressure to be used. When they fade out after you've used the phone it looks so slick it's unbelievable. In my mind this is without a doubt the best looking phone on the market, and i'd buy this over the D900 any day.

Features-wise this phone is top of the range. It may not be 3G (video-calling) but it's got a 2.0Mpixel camera which provides really clear and crisp photos, theres a speedy bluetooth service, the media player is quite good (although the speaker is a bit tinny), and theres stacks of room for storage, especially with the TransFlash memory card inserted (I bought a 512Mb card for £15 brand new, which holds 120-odd songs and a load of photos). The only downside to the phone's interface is the way it slows right down when it's trying to load up lists of photos.

The front of the phone can look a bit messy if you get grubby fingerprints all over it (which isn't too hard to do but it can easily be wiped down). The back has a similar problem but this isn't as noticeable.

The sliding mechanism feels very firm and is not fragile at all. Other slide phones can feel pretty flimsy but this feels like a good, solid build. The phone weighs under a 100g and is the perfect size to fit into your hand. The keys feel solid as well and aren't too small to use comfortably.

The phone comes with two "skins," one black and one white. In my opinion the black one looks way better (check the samsung website and you can see for yourself) but its a shame that you can't download other skins to use. There's the normal range of abstract images for backgrounds which aren't too bad really, and when you connect the phone to the PC using the supplied software and cable you can quickly and easily transfer all your favourite images across to the phone, and back up your phone book, calendar etc.

The phone claims to be able to open documents such as spreadsheets and word documents, which I'm afraid I haven't tried out myself so i can't tell you how well this works (or doesn't, as the case may be).

In calls, this phone has a great quality call signal. Network reception is always at least 4 bars (out of 6). I've never had a call dropped or any signal loss, even when the battery's starting to get low. And talking of batteries...

The battery life on this phone is immense. I charge the phone around once every four days for about three or four hours. I keep my phone on all day and turn it off at night, and i keep bluetooth off except for when I'm using it. I think this sort of battery life is really amazing, especially compared to my old phone, a Samsung sgh-zm60.

When the phone's charging, some people have complained that the screen lights up and won't turn off. I can appreciate that this might be annoying, but it isn't exactly rocket science - just turn the phone so it's face down! problem solved :D

To sum up, this phone is amazing quality, it's packed full of features and there are practically no downsides to it. I bought mine off the Link website for £190 (and got a tenner back for trading in a rubbish old phone), which some may find pretty steep, but if you compare this to your average contract at £25 a month (plus expenses) it works out at around £100 or more cheaper than a contract phone, many of which are nothing like the quality this phone offers.

Hope this has helped! And if you're thinking of buying this phone, then definately go ahead and pay up. You won't regret it. If you don't like the look of this, then fork out another £10 or so and get a white LG chocolate which almost looks as slick as the e900

Great review, this one looks a beaut all right! Although not enough to entice me away from my W850i! Any chance of posting up a photo using the phone so I can compare the camera quality? Cheers Tom
