The Samsung SGH - F480, also known as the Samsung Tocco is an ultra-stylish touch screen mobile phone. With its great looks and its 5 mega pixel camera the Samsung Tocco is one of the best choice of touch screen mobile phones out on the market today.
It is so simple to use yet there are so many different functions built into it so you can do to it to make it exactly how you want. Like many other phones, as soon as you turn the phone on you are greeted with your home-screen. On the tocco's home-screen there is a sliding bar along the side called the touch wiz where you can store all of your favourite applications, such as your music player, and simply drag them onto the main screen of the phone when you want to use it. This is a great function as if you like to have a clear home-screen on your phone it allows you to have one just by simply dragging and dropping either what you want or don’t want on and off the screen.
When you press the menu button the screen spins round and a traditional menu page appears with a choice of messaging, web browser, alarms, settings and other applications you would expect to find on a mobile phone. As mentioned, the phone has a 5 mega pixel camera with an LED flash which works great. The pictures the phone takes are all very clear and when using the camera you really start to learn just how good this phone really is.
When sending a message the Tocco has a traditional touch screen keypad - not a QWERTY keypad giving you the helpful option of the T9 function. This touch screen keypad however is quite slow and difficult to use and having a QWERTY keypad would have been a lot easier for the users as it would have been a lot faster to use.
When using the Tocco's internet browser we start to see some of the things the phone lacks. The browser is incredibly slow and after using iPhones and a handful of Blackberries you start to see why the Samsung's browser is not so good. It’s not the worst phone internet browser in the world but there are room for some minor improvements. The phone does have 3G built into it but you very rarely find you’re self with a 3G signal which is why the browser is so painfully sluggish.
All in all the Samsung Tocco is a great phone but I would say it is more a fashion accessory then a phone for people who love their technology, or the everyday businessman. The Samsung does everything you want it to relatively well and therefore I would say it is one of the best touch screen phone devices you can buy today.
