When it came time to renew my contract, i had already decided i wanted a phone which had the touch screen technology, but i was unsure which one to get, as the ones i had previously looked at or tried seemed to have a delay in touch the screen and the required action being performed.
However when i came to looking at the samsung tocco F-480 i was very pleasantly surprised. The phone had everything that i required in a phone and more!!! So i am writing this review in appreciation of what i think is a really great and easy to use piece of mobile technology.
Price:- As i got the phone on an 18 month contract i am not paying for the phone as such, however i have looked into buying this particular phone on a pay as you go basis and the price ranges between £170-190. Now this does seem like a lot of money for a phone, so if you can get it on contract then its definitely worth doing.
Features:- The phone has a
lot of really great features, so i will talk about my favourites in a little more detail and also give an overall list of all the features. Overall list:- 262k full touch tft lcd screen 5.0 megapixel camera mp3 music player fm radio full internet browsing micro SD external memory slot bluetooth customisable drag and drop technology
My favourite features:- 1.) Full internet browsing - on other mobiles that i have owned, i couldn't really access the whole of the internet without it costing me a fortune, and even if i managed to get on the internet it was very difficult to browse the web pages. However with the tocco, the big screen makes browsing the internet much easier and more enjoyable, not least because the size of the screen means i can actually see more of the webpage i am looking at. This means i actually have the internet wherever i go, which is handy as i am often required to check my emails several times a day but am not always able to access a computer. So this is absolutely one of my favourite features. The internet is also quick to load on the phone as well, and the web pages are easy to navigate with the touch screen.
2.) Touch screen - This is by far the most responsive touch screen that i have ever use on a mobile phone. A lot of other phones with touch screens that i have tried have a delay on the touch screen, however the touch screen on the tocco responds immediately, so it actually does what i want it to do, this makes texting on the tocco especially easy, and i found that after using the tocco for only a couple of hours i felt i had been using it forever it was so easy to adjust to.
3.) 5.0 megapixel camera - Now my everyday camera is an 8.2 megapixel so i wasnt holding out much hope for the camera on the tocco. However i found that i was once again pleasantly surprised at the quality of the camera. the zoom on the camera is really good, and with the right settings which i know are different for each person according to their preferences, the camera is just as good as any other digital camera. I will upload a couple of examples of pictures that i have taken on the camera, when i get a chance to do so.
So that is the main features of the phone. There are just a few more things i want to talk about.
The first is the design of the phone itself, The phone comes in Silver or pink, i have the silver one. The casing is metal and there is an optional phone cover which can be attached to the phone to protect the touch screen. I have put this cover on and would recommend it as the screen could otherwise get easily scratched or damaged. The phone itself is also lightweight and has a slim design, so it can easily fit into a a small bag, which is definitly handy for me!!!!
Secondly the battery lasts me around 4-5 days, since i have my phone on 24 hours a day and it gets used a lot as well i think this is a pretty good battery life.
Thirdly the phone itself is fairly robust, as despite my best efforts to be careful with my nice new phone i am quite clumsy and have already dropped it a few times, yet its remains completely unscathed. Of course i wouldn't recommend purposely throwing it around, my point is merely that it can withstand accidental drops.
So overall i would say that this phone is really a great piece of technology. I really love this phone, and would definitley recommend it to people who are looking to buy a good quality touch screen phone.
