I bought Samsung G600 couple of weeks back on contract from e2save. Initially I was not very sure about the phone as the reviews were quite conflicting, although after owning the phone now for more than two weeks I thihk I am quite pleased with the buy.
To start with the points I like about the phone: 1> The phone body layout is very good, the phone feels great in hand, it's slim but not very difficult to handle. 2> The screen is quite bright, even visible in good day's sunlight. 3> Battery life is satisfactory - charged once in three days after moderate use (not much used the music player or camera) 4> Photo quality is good, but camera takes couple of seconds to capture photo once you click the button (which is disappointing) 5> Music player sound is good, same is about the FM player 6> Software to install on the computer is nice, also when connected by USB cable, the phone charges which is very good feature that lacked in my old Nokia 6300. Can send SMS, operate phonebook and media files live on computer when the phone is connected. 7> Like the menu selection and the visual features like Menu transition effects. 8> Even with loads of music files and photos in the phone & memory card the phone's speed of operation has not deteriorated.
Now the points I didn't like: 1> More keystrokes involved in sending SMS 2> The phone doesn't handle card memory too well. If you store photos or videos in card memory, they are not seen using the software. You will have to move them in phone memory only then they are accessible in the software - which is clearly a big disadvantage while downloading the files on conputer. 3> Shortcuts are not fully configurable. The middle button is programmed for internet, which I can't assign for any other function as I do not use much internet on phone. 4> Camera flash is not too good. As said above if you want to capture quick movements (say of babies) you better look for some other camera phone. 5> Messages saved in Draft folder are not saved with receipant's names. 6> Took quite some time to get used to Clear button - which is quite different than Cancel as in Nokia or Sony models.
Overall I think it's a good phone as it does many of the tasks nicely, if you use the phone's features moderately you will like the phone.
Hope these points have helped you to make your opinion on G600.
