T he new Samsung u900 soul was a phone i first saw when searching the internet.I was due to get a new phone and after many hours of deliberation and countless pages of phone spec i finally decided this was the one for me........I wasnt disappointed by any means.
THE PRODUCT......
I chose the graphite colour option as i felt it looked the most modern. The silver option was not as appealing but nonetheless thats personal opinion. When i first opened the phone i was very impressed with the styling and feel of it.It is slim and has a stainless steel back plate but you actually feel you know you have a phone in your hand without it feeling like a brick.
The screen is an impressive size but not too big with a touchpad underneath that enables you to use it to control all the phones functions. The touchpad has a setting for adjusting sensitivity so if your heavy handed its a very clever addition to the phone. The menus are very easy to understand and the the keypad is great for usual dialling/texting and so on.
I did see in a review that someone stated they were hard to see in sunlight.May i just say that with the full range of themes and colours it is very easy to change this to suit your enviroment.I actually have a dark clock and screen for daytime use then change it to the neon blue at night which is fantastic and impresses everyone i meet. The colour and screen settings are endless and i highly recommend you take the time to read your manual to get the best settings that suit you.Changing the keypad colour to suit the screen is a good tip.Oh yes,the keypad changes to any colour and you can put your personal favourites on it for quick menu access. An example being, say you dont want your browser on the keypad, you can put it on your menu screen and maybe add a shortcut music key as i did.
The u900 also boasts a fantastic 5 megapixel camera with flash and face tracking which is very clever indeed. You have all the usual picture settings and clever little frames and faces and flowers and so on in the edit suite. The pictures i have taken are very good indeed and the video capabilities are very impressive. The camera lens is hidden by the flip which i find is essential to stop accidental scratching of the lens.
The browser has turbo 3g capabilty and downloads 8 times faster than any phone. It has fm radio, rss reader, digital data printing, synchronisation with windows media player, music player, mobile blog and of course bluetooth. The speaker is of bang and olufsen fame and anyone who knows their speakers will know its one of the best in the world. The music through the headphones is that of a quality i have not ever heard on a phone.
Headphones are supplied as is the samsung pc suite cd's for all your pics and videos to be uploaded and edited. I have mine on a t-mobile contract called the flext plan and every month i get £180 of credit to use at a cost of £35 per month. Of course there are plenty of deals about so take your time in looking. The phone does not come with an sd card which is usual for Samsung but it has a slot to take up to 8 gig.Carphone warehouse currently has a deal on a 4 gig card for £19.99.A good deal i think.
Sadly time is against me at the moment so i had to write this review as quickley as possible.Forgive my hurry but please comment on this if you will. This is the best phone i have ever been in possession of and i can not find any fault at all.All my friends rave about it and everyone i have met really loves it.Its a piece of kit that is a must for the mobile phone enthusiast and i have probably not covered half of what it can do. Get out,buy one, blame me if you dont like it. I dont expect any messages saying that but probably thanks for my recommendation.
ENJOY XXX
