Bought this last summer for my new desktop. It is very fast, the performance is extraordinary. I love the fact that it's SATA hdd, the air flow has improved. It's cheap, it has a big 16mb cache, I appreciate NoiseGuard and NCQ features. It's not as hot as I thought it will be, the temperatures are ok. It is a ultra silent harddisk in comparison to my previous Maxtor. It has a weird noirse during seek/write, but not disturbing. The manufacturer provided ... more

It's cheap, it has a big 16mb cache, I appreciate NoiseGuard and NCQ features. It's not as hot as I thought it will be, the temperatures are ok. It is a ultra silent harddisk in comparison to my previous Maxtor. It has a weird noirse during seek/write, but not disturbing. The manufacturer provided a molex to SATA power connector and screws, great decision. Good bang for the buck, the transfer rate are pretty fast, but don't expect a Raptor unit. I wish I could buy another one, I want to see the RAID performance. My next hdd will be another samsung, I plan a 1tb upgrade next year.
