...Theres only so much you can say about a dvd drvive but yeah Bargin for the price of it. I brought mine oem which brought the price down a little more but didnt include any cables or cd..although no cd was needed as windows detects it straight away an gets her running for you. firmware updates and drivers etc are all freely avaliable on the samsung website to for this product and they too are easy enough to use .. Have never had any trouble with this drive and Its played every disc iv thrown at it so far, Also no coasters or burn errors so far out of 100 blank discs, It has a very nice build quality and runs so quietly you wouldnt no it was there or running... ...I bought this laptop more for the price aspect and what seemed a good alround package. If I had the money had the time I would have been drawn more to the top brand like Sony etc. However this is a big mistake. There is nothing to fault this laptop on the specs are brillant for the price and the look and feel is just ace. If you need a cheap quality laptop buy this, If you want to pay more buy one of the other samsung laptops with better specs but trust me you will not be disappointed. The only upgrade I may suggest is the extra memory which is easy to install and make windows XP respond that bit better. Look for the windows XP Pro version if you need to use on a domain or save more money and buy with windows xp home (£60 saving).... Read review

Advantages: Slim, lightweight and clear display
Disadvantages: Fairly small memory

...The brilliant, clear display on this laptop helps make it stand out. Although it is now a few years old and the spec. has been superceded by most, if not all others, if you see one cheap, and are looking for a reliable machine with a crystal clear display, you should snap it up. Apart from the screen display the other great feature of this range of Samsung laptops is their size and weight. I purchased this machine to replace a Compaq laptop with a lower spec. and I could not believe how much lighter this one was. It is extremely slim too. For most laptop users the hard drive memory will probably be adequate as by the time it is full you will most likely be looking for a better machine anyway!... Read review
