With over-speed recording, users can write at 22X speeds on 16X media and 12X speeds on 8X media. As lower speed media is more cost-effective, companies can save money while burning discs at faster speeds. In addition to the writer's high speed performance, the SH-S223 also boasts a low-noise feature. The drive's aerodynamic frame design reduces air-borne noise by preventing pressure concentration. The drive supports SATA interface - the dominant interface for PCs. The SH-S223 drive includes free software so users can easily create music, video, photo and data discs. The drive also includes Samsung's live firmware update program that allows users to download new firmware to keep their drives updated for free.

In the past I have always used Pioneer and Liteon Drives in the past. But I bought a Samsung drive (Super-WriteMasterSH-S202J) from www.ishift.co.uk and I must say that not only is it just as fast (20x) and I have seen no real difference in performance between the IDE or SATA drives as the Liteon and Pioneer drives but it is much much quieter! To be honest the whole build quality of the Samsung seems a lot better as well plus it came with the software I needed, unlike many of the Pioneer OEM drives I have bought. Considering the low price I paid I think this is by far one of the best value for money drives I have ever bought. Very happy, this drive comes highly recommended! A+++...

...till now i used different dvd drives like creative, LG, SONY, but samsungsSamsungSuper-WriteMasterSH-S202J is best drive comparitively to any other dvd drive of its class it dont create any noise at all while buring CD or DVD. its really so fast in burning CD and DVD more over very secure it dont spoils CD. i believe in samsung products alot because they create reliable products and it works longer for years. SamsungSuper-WriteMasterSH-S202J is compatible to all deskop computers. in developing nations like india and china there are frequent volatage fluctuations SamsungSuper-WriteMasterSH-S202J with stand good to voltage fluctuations. according to my opinion this is the best samsung drive i will recommend this every one who looking forward to buy dvd drive for thier desktops...
