Samsung SyncMaster 150Mp

I recently bought a Samsung SyncMaster 150MP LCD monitor to replace my old 17" NEC one, which had started humming irritatingly.

The 150MP is actually an LCD monitor and TV combined - this adds somewhat to the cost, at around £1000, but made a lot of sense for my small study / sitting room.

The monitor looks very elegant, with a sleek silver front. It is quite thin (just over a centimeter thick). The remote control is also a cool silver. I guess it doesn't match the top of the range Sony N50 for coolness, but runs it a close second.

Connecting the monitor is easy - there is a removable panel at the back which gives straightforward access to all the connecters, but which tidies up the back when replaced.

Accessing the monitor features is easy - you can either use buttons on the front, or the remote control.

The TV can actually be used full screen (like a normal TV) or as a 'picture in picture' (the latter is good for sneakily watching when you are supposed to be working). Picture quality is good.

The only thing I'd change (apart from the price) is the way that you select between sources (PC,TV etc.). The monitor can have 4 inputs - PC, Video 1, Video 2, and TV (in that order) and takes a second or two to switch between each source, so you can't switch from PC to TV instantaneously. This is quite irritating at the time, but doesn't really detract from the rest of the features.
