Samsung is a make we rave about in our household. Not only is the very laptop I'm typing this review on a Samsung, but so is my slidey phone, our telephone and also our TFT computer screen at home. It's the latter of the three that this review is all about sohere i go.
I know it must be obvious from the word go that I think very fondly of this product. And it's true I really like our TFT screen, not only is it a huge 20 inch screen, in a stylish silver colour, but it also has awesome picture quality which makes photos on the web and computer gaming very enjoyable.
COST: £395.99 PLACE OF PURCHASE: Tesco Extra SIZE: 20 inch screen DIMENSIONS: 471.4mm x 351.8mm x 200 mm BRAND: samsung
Purchased from Tesco extra as you can see from the info above, it was a sort of convience/ our old one was getting really cronky/ my mother had too much money one week, purchase. Tesco extra is fantastic in that it's got so much, theres always something you need. And, quite annoyingly at times, so much that theres always something you've forgotten to buy.
Design: As I mentioned eariler it's a rather superb looking piece of machinery. Silver and stylish looking it's also super slim with a bezel surrounding the screen and is mounted on a stand which is fully adjustable to angle it at which ever direction you want to face it and depends on where your desk chair is/ how high etc. On the front screen, in the bottom right hand corner there's 6 round silver buttons: The power button, which lights up with a blue light to indicate when it's switched on and is not illuminated which the screen is off. This allows you to save energy and also prevents you from making the mistake of assuming windows has already shut down before pulling the plug. The other buttons include an Auto Configure button for using the analogue D-SUB input, a Menu button, up and down buttons for manual adjustment of pixel quality and also a select button. The down button can also be used as the 'magicbright shortcut', sounds fancy but actually just means it's a button that brings up a menu to which you have five defaults to choose from, these are Text, Internet, Game, Sport and Movie. However if you're skilled, or silly like we were, you can fiddle with these manually to customise the contrast & brightness manually.
Around the behind: At the back theres a main power cable socket so it can suck power from the wall via a black 3 meter cable as supplied and run up your electric bill. Don't worry though it's actually quite energy efficent at 55 Watts.
Resolution and Picture Quality: It's a TFT screen so the picture is really good and is very sharp in image quality. It's fnatastic for playing games on, the superb sound combined with great pixel images makes lara croft look amazing and is fantastic for Movies too.
Overall a super duper 5 star rating for this excellent product. Although not the most affordable on the market for a fancy flatscreen TFT screen. However it is a samsung so will last almost forever and is very good quality. Also the picture quality is excellent and sound quality is really good too. Definately worth a look, and an excellent quality product from Samsung makes browing the web a delight and also viewing videos e.g. those on mtv.co.uk - i love the new beatfreakz one, very enjoyable . Thanks for reading & best wishes, mintz x x x
