As I type this my monitor is sitting slightly askew, directly on my desktop. The hinge that connects it to its adjustable stand began to fail within days after its purchase. As the hinge distorted the monitor began to slump forward. When it got to about 45 degrees I removed it from the stand fearing damage to the screen when the part finally failed altogether. I haven't contacted Samsung to ask for another because I fear it is a design shortcoming, so another stand will suffer the same fate. I didn't just return the whole thing because... well, the monitor is that good. I can fit a lot of stuff onto 1680x1050, and the price was very reasonable. The saving grace here is that any 75mmx75mm VESA-compliant stand will work. If you just pretend that you're buying a monitor with no stand & act accordingly you'll be okay.

The consumer is going to buy the screen - it is an aspect that the hinge was faulty and thanks for pointing it out, but it would have been nice to know more about the screen itself - can it be wall mounted, etc etc, more detail about the whole
