I have owned and used this monitor daily for 5 years now and it is as good as it was back then. As well as being a solid PC monitor it doubles as a TV as well with built in speakers.
The great thing is that you can have your PC, analogue aerial and a scart device all plugged in at the same time and switch between them with a single button on the monitor or with the handy remote. It also features PIP (picture in picture) viewing. Meaning that you can have the TV/Video on screen at the same time as the PC. Either in one of two small squares in the corner of the screen. Or side by side. One slightly annoying thing is that the in-picture small display isn't quite in the corner of the screen and theres times I wish I could push it over a bit to make more space for the PC.
Because the SyncMaster is designed for television watching the built in speakers are better than your average ones with a good range of sound. In fact when my normal telly was on the blink the monitor served well in my front room in its place. It was then it was evident that the viewing angles were also good. Some LCD screens have a poor viewing angle meaning you have to position yourself to the centre of the screen otherwise the picture is faded.
You can even plug in a UHF radio aerial to listen to the radio on it.
As a PC display I can't fault it. Like I said at the start I have used it daily to work and play on, for many hours at a time. Good clear text and distinct colours.
One thing that let it down at this time was that I couldn't find an appropriate code to program into my Sky remote that would let you adjust the volume. So I had to have the monitor remote and the Sky one with me at all times.
