Designed for color critical applications, desktop publishers, video and photography editors and graphic designers, the XL20 supports users that demand extremely accurate color temperature, linearly color tracking, brightness uniformity and color reproduction. Traditional LCD screens typically cover only 82 percent of the NTSC standard color gamut (CRT covers 76 percent), while the XL20 utilizes a unique light emitting diode back light unit (LED BLU), increasing the color gamut up to 114 percent of the NTSC color gamut. The XL20 is further enhanced by a Color Management System (CMS) that helps provide vivid and precise color. The CMS includes color calibration, which enables more accurate quality control, and Image Viewer, an intuitive tool that corrects color differences between monitors and printers. The XL20 is also equipped with Natural Color Expert software, which allows users to calibrate the monitor's color profile to fit their specific color requirements. In addition to its quality specifications, the XL20 is designed to support a comfortable, yet stylish work environment. It is equipped with a height adjustable stand and pivot capabilities for increased comfort, and comes complete with an attractive detachable hood. The hood allows users to appreciate the professional image quality and accurate color representation, by blocking unwanted surrounding ambient light, and producing a pure color temperature.
Advantages: Shiny and flat with clear images Disadvantages: 24" is a big monitor
...1200 resolution. I also demanded extreme prettiness.
Unfortunately times had changed. Manufacturers had decided that high resolution was only really required in larger screen sizes. My quest for a 19” super duper monitor was quashed.
These demands were too much for the manufacturers of flash screens. I found monitors that were too big, that were too small, that had scummy resolution and most shockingly of all I found monitors I couldn’t bear to look at, such was their ugliness.
Then I found the SamsungSyncMaster 2433.
It was a whopping 24” but had that all important 1920 X 1200 resolution. Plus, it passed the pretty test. Black glossy and curvaceous, the Samsung ticked a lot of boxes. I was sold. So sold in fact, that I ordered 2. Oh yes.
When they arrived they needed a minor amount of self assembly. This might seem odd, but the base...

And it's true I really like our TFT screen, not only is it a huge 20 inch screen, in a stylish silver colour, but it also has awesome picture quality which makes photos on the web and computer gaming very enjoyable.

Advantages: Light to move about my desk, Very easy on the eye, uses less power and runs cooler. Disadvantages: At first text is not quite so sharp as on CRT monitor, but I hardly notice this now.
...For months I yearned after one of those stylish LCD monitors, but wanting a nice big 19 inch model which tended to be more expensive, I have been waiting for the price to come down.
Looking around the computer stores, it soon became obvious to me that the ones with the best quality seemed to be the Samsung and after visiting a relative and seeing that he actually had a Samsung, I was sold on this particular make.
It wasn't long before I was unpacking the box of my new SamsungSyncMaster 193V and what a joy it was to lift it onto my desk without straining a muscle and now I had more room to put my clutter! Actually that's not quite true because with the stylish product on my desk and the extra room in front of it, I felt strongly inspired to clean up my space.
When I did my research into TFT monitors, I discovered that it was...
