For two years, almost every other weekend it would travel on a 200 mile round trip from University and home. It has travelled in the back of pickup trucks, strapped to the roof, had a glass of lemonade poured on it and dropped frequently.
Although I do not recommend doing this to your monitor I do suggest you buy one. I originally bought it as a temporary monitor (before I got my 21") however it's taken me till now to actually buy one as I am so pleased with the 17" counterpart.
It does support 1152x864 quite happily at 75hz and is still supported today. If you can't get it this high, maybe you need newer drivers and/or graphics card.
In comparision to other cheaper monitors it is second to none. I've just reached the end of my warrenty (bought direct monitors usually come with three year warrenty - if the shop that sells it to you tells you otherwise, ring the manufacturer and check! It never hurts)
Samsung has created a good monitor, supported by both Linux and Windows (though is obscure enough to require a driver disc)
One important piece of info if you're getting the driver off the internet (like I do) the Syncmaster 750s is actually listed as Samsung SyncMaster 750(M)s(T) which can confuse :- )

Hi good op. Sounds a bit like my monitor has had to go through. Many uni trips and still going strong! I think LCD flat screens are the way forward now though!
