It has four quality modes and even the best one only reaches the bottom level of what a half decent video camera can do. It has a 4GB card, good for 1.5 hours filming in the best mode, and 4 hours in the 'web and mobile' mode.

Function
It definitely didn't excel here either. The image quality is pretty poor and it only has a pathetic little sensor with a meagre 800,000 pixels. It has four quality modes and even the best one only reaches the bottom level of what a half decent video camera can do. It has a 4GB card, good for 1.5 hours filming in the best mode, and 4 hours in the 'web and mobile' mode. It does have a screen, which can swivel to allow you to record angles you couldn't normally see, such as over a tall, fat bloke whose decided to stand in front of you in a crowd. But most cameras can do that anyway so it's no big whoop.
Overall
A pretty low quality camera that shouldn't be seen in the hands of anyone who considers themselves in anyway a photographer. It's only redeeming quality is that it doesn't cost nearly as much as a decent camcorder, so it might be alright for a 'my first camera' type thing.
Advantages: Compact, convienient and fantastic picture quality Disadvantages: Unreliable and poor customer service.
...nice and as with all Samsung products it seems to list a heap of fancy features that are on the leading edge of technology. Reliability: I have had this camcorder for almost 6 months and am sorry to say that it has just been sent for repair for the second time due to a manufacturing fault (The LCD screen died). So I am going to say not very reliable at all but this is to be expected with leading edge technology I guess. Ease of use: At first not ... ...Picture Quality: This camera's one redeeming feature - the picture quality is 15/10 absolutely stunning. Battery Life: is on par with the industry standard ( I think I got 300 minutes out of it before it needed recharged. Summary: I expect better from a manufacturer like Samsung ...

The VP-MX20 comes with H.264 technology, which enhances its record times significantly. In the "fine" mode, Samsung's VP-MX20 camcorder can record up to 6 hours using a card. Samsung's H.264 technology also more than doubles the compression ratio so that it takes less time to send video files via email or upload them onto the internet. The VP-MX20 also features a unique shooting mode that allows users to select a resolution and format that's ideal for uploading contents to YouTube or multi-media devices. By selecting the Web and Mobile mode, the camcorder's resolution is automatically adjusted to 640 x 480 and optimized for use on web sites. Unlike other camcorders, users can easily import the video and play it on the MP3 players and PMPs supporting H.264 - without having to transcode the files.
