Advantages: Good picture, sound, and set up system Disadvantages: None so far.
This is my first widescreen TV, finally fed up of watching TV with half the picture missing, we did a lot of research on what to buy, given our limited budget and desire for something that would tick all our boxes.
We wanted a flat screen, due to having a large patio door at the far end of the room it is in, good sound, and good picture. We got all of that, so we are satisfied.
I don't do technical stuff, which you can find elsewhere ... ...50 mhz, which means almost nothing to me, but does provide a very clear picture. It's nicam, with various sound modes for the type of TV you are watching, including movie, music, speech, standard or custom. It also has a bizarrely named thing called "turbo" which does give an even better sound.
The picture modes are similarly varied, including "Dynamic" which provides my favourite crystal clear picture.

I don't do technical stuff, which you can find elsewhere normally, but here is a little bit. It's 50 mhz, which means almost nothing to me, but does provide a very clear picture. Many TV's and electrical stuff seem to boast how fantastic they are by giving you a remote with more buttons than NORAD, however this one is the most simple I have seen. Most menu functions such as sound modes, picture modes etc can be accessed from a menu button, but can also be accessed more quickly by shortcut buttons, which have other functions. It has the usual stuff like teletext with fast text buttons, but you can also save your favourite pages for even quicker access. One of the most impressive things about this TV, you will only use once! That's the set up, it really is simplicity itself, plug it in, connect it up, choose the language, and off it goes. The only thing you may have to do after that is swap the best channels around so that the best pictures are the first choice channels. That's simple as well. The TV also features the ability to reduce "noise" if you are suffering poor reception, I can't comment on that as mine is OK. Having said that I am using a loft aerial, and this gives a far better picture than it did on my previous Sanyo TV. With a perfect picture on all 4 channels. Connections - 2 scart, Av and all that, nicely tucked away on the left side, so the front is nice and tidy. On the sad side, as in sad person, it does make a funky little chirruping sound when you turn it on, and put it on standby, and even more appealling to my sad side, when it goes to standby, the picture shuts down with a curtain effect. The sound can be switched off for those of you are less imprssed by silly little things than me. It's a whopper of a TV, and took both me and my wife to move it into position, not to heavy, just big.
Overall, I am absolutely delighted with this TV, simple to set up, great picture, great sound. That's about all you could want. Unfortunately it doesn't mean that my TV license money is any better value!
Advantages: Easy Setup & Excellent picture quality Disadvantages: Remote is a little cluttered
...television, I came across the Samsung WS28M64V from littlewoods.
After ordering and paying for the TV, it arrived a week later. I would have liked it to arrive within the 48 hours advertised but this does not apply to televisions. So be warned if you are ordering from this supplier.
The TV arrived, after unpacking and placing on my TV stand. I must add here that is is not that heavy compared to a lot of other widescreen CRT TV's. I switched on ... ...it's ability to also control Samsung Video recorders and and DVD players. This is a good idea if you have other Samsung devices. A better idea would be if it was able to control other manufacturers devices but I presume this is to promote "Brand Loyalty".
The sound qulity is really good, a real plus here is the "Virtual Subwoofer", which when switched an adds some bass, which escpecially useful when watching a film. There are also two surround sound ...
