Samsung YEPP YP-U1Z 1 GB

This mp3 player was only £80, it sounds like a lot of money, but the other mp3 players for this price hold about half the songs that this one does
It has 1gb storage space, which is about 300 or so songs. I have 177 songs on there at the moment and its a bit over half full.
For one thing, it looks good. I have had people complimenting my mp3 player.
-Its small
-It has a screen (unlike some)
-It is smaller than an ipod, and half the price. It has less storage space, but i have never seen anybody with an ipod that needs even half the storage space.

The features of this mp3 player as opposed to to others are numerous

-navigation

1. The navigation takes you to a list of the songs in normal mode, so if you set it to shuffle mode, you can find a song that you want, and then carry on listening in shuffle mode
The navigation can also be accessed by pressing the menu button quickly, but it will display the songs from the one you are listening to, so you dont have to look for ages to find one close to the song that you are listening to

2.You can do many things on the settings menu-
-Change the brightness of the screen
-change the time the light of the screen turns off
-change the time the mp3 player automatically turns off after pressing pause (to start with its 10 seconds but can go up to a few minutes)
-change the bass level
-change the play mode-normal, shuffle, repeat, intro, repeat all
-Put an ID tag on the songs so it will display the artist
-change the language
-change the default volume
-change the search speed
-delete songs

3. The playlist option plays only the songs that you set on it

The instructions are brief, and do not cover everything. However, it tells all you really need to begin with, such as downloading songs.

The samsung media player is good, and easy to use, but the only problem is, you need to rip the songs onto the computer from a cd for them to appear on the media player.
The other songs you want to put on, you can sync on from windows media player, however they appear at the end of the list of songs on the mp3 player.

The order that the songs automatically go in is the number they were on that cd. Each set of songs that are number 1 will go in alphabetical order, for example, this is the order of the first 10 songs on mine, and how they appear on the screen

This mp3 player is easy to use. All the functions are simple to use, and you can get to where you want in a few seconds. It doesnt tend to turn on unexpectedly when put in a bag or something, but there is a hold setting which prevents it playing when you dont want it to.

Well that's all, its excellent value for money, and the only problem i have with it is that the usb cover is a little loose, but this does not affect the playing of files in any way.
The headphones supplied are ok, they make a good sound, but they slip out of your ears a bit. However they can easily be replaced by something better. You can also plug in portable speakers.
