Advantages: Large display, syncs seamlessly with Windows XP, Fantastic video playback, adaquate storage space
Disadvantages: Low battery life, quite bulky, not enough options for sound/picture adjustment

...impressed by the quality of video playback. Another feature on this device is the ability to view photos and pictures and to store data. I know that now 20gb is not a lot of storage space for an mp3 player, but I found this amount to be more than enough. I would say that overall this is a good portable media player if you're looking for one that can store plenty of music and playback video files well. I would recommend this device if you don't mind the slight bulkiness of the design, and the included headphones, which aren't very loud. But overall good display, good features, adaquate storage space and user friendly.... Read review

Advantages: Great sound, MP3 / colour photo / video / FM / games, smart design
Disadvantages: does'nt have the kudos of the iPod

...as an external HDD for extra storage, file transfer or back up. This is also real easy. It has 5 games included I have not used them but hey are; Othello - win stones by placing then either diagonally, horizonal or vertically Omok - win the game by placing stones either diagonally, horizonal or vertical Tetris - stack the blocks Chips - maze game with keys and obsticles You can change many settings including the scroll speed, backlight timing, LCD off time, text colour. I use photoshop for my image manipulation so have not really used the Samsung provided software. Samsung actually includes a very useful looking multimedia studio software which includes image and video editing. The image capture to take still images from video is a nice feature. ...the samsung yh999 is the best big boys toy i have bought since my motorbike. Its 20GB harddrive is fantasic to store all your favourite albums at the moment i am hold 56 albums on mine and i'm only using 5GB of the memory, the unit hold upto 80 hours of video or up to 5000 songs but realistically i usually hold as many albums as possible because i get bored of listen to the same music over and over and hold maybe 10 divx (MPEG4) videos so that i have a choice, that's fine for me, and only uses about half my memory. This memory can also be used as a normal removable drive, however i did find that you had to copy the files back to your main harddrive in order to open the files. Don't think this is just a funky MP3 player because it is alot more it's 3.5" screen is fine for watching movies or recorded tv programmes on the move, i use... Read review
