Full review
The YP-K3 is one the most recent ontakes of the Ultra-Slim range of MP3 players. It had a heatpad touchscreen which pops out of nowhere when you turn it on, a very large (For me) 2GB memory (Which is slightly less with every MP3 Player). It is extremely thin which makes it very appealing to the eye, and the ability to listen to the radio, and view pictures. So with the latest iPod nano craze, i wanted to go a little different, and so i chose the YP-K3 by Samsung!

Anyway, Some factual things first.
The price was £89.99 when it first came out
In argos it is now £49.99 since there is an unpraded version now out.
25 hours battery life.
Earphones supplied.
1 inch screen
Toggle at the side which toggles on/off and Lock
FM Tuner with Preset Capability

Out with the boring stuff, in with the new!

How, lets test what i think a good MP3 player should have.

""-Decent Battery Life-""

I consider a decent battery life to be around 15 hours. So i'm very happy with 25 hours as you can imagine. Although, thats what the product says, but all around the internet, some say 20, some say 25. It says on the box 25, so thats what i go with. Although, thats what they advertise, it's NOWHERE NEAR the truth! 10 hours maximum is how long mine lasted from fully charged. Wasn't at all happy with that. Whats worse, is that the battery life drains with age... NOw it only lasts 5 measly hours, and my music is so important to me, and i don't let any MP3 player get in the way of that. Unimpressed, eek. ANd BTW i talk from personal experience.
""-Decent Sound Quality-""

Heres somewhere i cannot complain! The YP-K3 delivers an absolutely faultless sound quality! It's also loud! Not just loud though, even metal is very clear. It's like listening to a heavy, distorted, and darkened wind when listening to Dimmu Borgir. Also, the preset tracks sound amazing on 3D Sound capability, when you close your eyes, you feel like your in space or on a hawaian beach listening to the local bands show their stuff. Also, Concert Hall capability is unbelievably realistic. It sounds as if the band are playing live! Amazing or what! I tricked my friends, hehe (I'm cruel inside). Huge thumbs up, and a huge metal horn up! m/

""-Easy to Use-""

8 buttons. Up down left right, back, select, lock and powere toggle and menu buttons. The iPod nano is bloody awful to use. I hate that circle you use your thumb with. I borrowed by friends. And after using the darned thing for a while and then sleeping, my thumb hurt so much. This on the other hand, is very simple. All you need to do is up and down to selct your song, and select to listen to it. Use up and down when in the song to affect the volume, and the triger up to lock it so you can put in your pocket and go. Simple enough, right? Pictures are easy too. Up down left right to change the picture, and select to view it. And back to go back (Hence the name of the button). FM tuner even simpler. Left and right to change the frequency, and up and down to change the volume. How difficult. Hehe! Thumbs up on ease of use!
""-Easy to keep clean and undamaged-""

Erm... No. Since the screen itself if made of the same material as the LG Chocolate's and any other touchscreen item except SatNav's, the fingerprints are a complete NIGHTMARE to get rid of. Rub them and they smudge and make it worser. You need glasses lens cleaner to get it back. Yes, you heard me, glasses lens cleaner for an MP3 player... Keeping it undamaged is no easier. Mine has at least 20 scratches on the back of it which has ruined it's value completely. Although i don't care about value, it still is a large factor. Everyone likes expensive items, however they say they don't. But, the front is no weakling. Takes a lot to scratch that, since mine is undamaged, and thats all that matters to me. So thums up for damage protection but a large thumbs down to cleaning.

""-Thin, Sleek, and something to brag about!-""

The picture speaks for itself. It's half the width of a cd case, and it feels like ice in your hand, in a good way! You can feel and see the quality. Whilst all the Year 7's are showing off their silly iPod nano's etc, i show them this and their jaws drop to the core of the earth.... Nice! It's so sleek too. People ask me where the buttons are when it's off, and i hold the button down, and their jaws drop to the other side of the world when they see them appear out of nowhere (People were paying me to see if it worked, and it did by the way =P) and i recieved £10 in the end! So yes! Thin, Sleek, and DEFINATELY something to brag about... Although don't show it too much, people may be tempted to steal it... I'd die inside of someone did that to my poor MP3 player...
""-Other plusses i'd love to add-""

- Great style, and the colour screen kicks serious butt. The pictures already on there are cool!
- You can check anytime how much memory you have left and how many files you have stored onto it.
- The reset button is extremely hidden. When people press the reset button on MP3's for a childish prank, then can't with mine. It's so hard to press and so hard to see!
- The screen size rocks!
- 5 different sound settings!
- Easy to charge!
- Shuffle and you won't expect what your listening to which is great when you want something different!

""-Now for some bad points =[-""

- The earphones which come with these are good for sound quality, but i've had to replace them twice. Well, once, but the wires are pulling out so i'll need to replace them soon.
- In the freezing hot or the boiling cold is can sometimes have a mind of it's own, which is kind of creepy...
- The battery life measure is scary. Heres a ratio of how it works (Obviously not actual time, i'm just making a point)
4 bars lasts for 60 minutes
3 bars for 10
2 bars for 4
1 bar for 1
And then dead.
As with all other samsungs, the battery life measuring system is on 4 for ages, and then goes down from 3 to 2 to 1 so fast you hardly have time to say 'I need to charge it'. And this is bad for the MP3 player itself.
""-Conclusion-""

I love this mp3 player! The sound quality rocks beyond anthing you could imagine, the battery life is decent however you look it, it's so sleek and nice it makes you want to eat it (Yummy!) and it's so easy to use. Except cleaning and some other annoyances, there isn't possibly anything else i'd like in an MP3 player! Put 'em in and listen to rocking tunes!

Thanks for reading my longest review yet (nearly 1200 words, wow! Does your brain hurt yet? My fingers do...)

Advantages: rich sound, easy to use, beautiful design.
Disadvantages: none that I can think of, perhaps a bit easily scratched if not treated well

...slimmest MP3 player in the Samsung range. It is black with a silver trim and very shiny. The screen is 3cm x 3.5cm. Below the screen is the touchpad that lights up. There is a blue circle which is the "OK" button and this is surrounded by four blue arrows which are used to scroll through the various menus. At the top left of the touchpad is a small curved arrow which is the back button, and opposite that at the right hand side is a button which ...

Advantages: Good audio quality, visual appearance, compact design
Disadvantages: None

...USB connection). You also get Samsung Media Studio when you get this player, and it is a reasonably useful program, and it is not difficult to get to grips with after a few minutes. That said, it may be preferable to drag and drop your files via "My Computer", since it will be a little quicker. And the downsides? There are no serious drawbacks, and I have only minor complaints. The fact that the on button is on the side of the player, where it ...
