I have purchased my YP-Q1 just a day ago, and yet i am already in love. with some minor problems, which i will address in the following review, as-well as the reasons i love this more than my old iPod.

Sound quality is great, with Samsungs very own dynamic natural sound engine which has been in development a while, the Q1 was the first player to have DNse 3.0, this may sound good in words, but wait until you hear the player. its sound quality in FLAC format is absolutely amazing, it makes me lost for words, With MP3 format at 320kb/s it sounds very good, much better than Ipod with such minimal lossiness i could even say that it gives "The best sound quality from a portable player In the world" but this could probably be argued and debated. to my untrained ear. its one of the best at least. DNse uses upscaling, EQ and its own 3D sound engine, it produces the best of sounds, and comes with presets, aswell as customizable settings, for people who know a little more about EQ,
It is easy to use and has a slightly over sensitive "touch diamond" which on occasion directs me to places i don't want to be, the sensitivity is an issue but you get used to it after a day or so. slightly unlike the Ipod which anyone can pick up and use. it has a nice to navigate menu and looks good altogether.
The Q1 is designer very well, in fact i might say it looks equally as good as the iPod. its gloss black finish looks nice an will pick up fingerprints, it has a lovely touch diamond and some well marked on logos and buttons. The plastic making up its outer shell is fairly rigid and very seamless. the hold button on the side is nice and the holes are in all the right places making it very well designed as apposed to other, equally priced MP3's.
Its range of features is quite good It has many features most of the following i will list here..:
2.4" LCD Screen 3.5mm Headphone Jack Ability to play MP3 and even FLAC among other audio formats Ability to play video (240x320) Pictures in JPEG Format Texts in .txt format Text to speech conversion, FM Radio Datacasts, For keeping RSS feeds on your player Voice Recorder Games Subway map of many cities And a File Browser Up to 40hrs battery life on music Up to 4hrs battery life on videos
The list of features will outweigh many of its counterparts from many different makers, aswell as having DNse for great audio. this is great value for money and covers all of the bases which i expect from a player of that price and caliber.
I highly recommend this product and i hope readers find this review useful and of some value. any questions please add a comment on this or leave a question on my user.

EDIT 03/06/2009: EmoDio review expanded
Hey guys, been a while! Reviewing can be time consuming, hence I havn't got around to going any other reviews. But I simply had to, for this wonderful little machine!
The SamsungYP-Q1 comes in memory sizes 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB. For those who don't know the meaning of this, one GB (GigaByte) is 1024 MegaBytes. Your average MP3 file is about 4 MegaBytes, but it's different with me since I listen to metal songs, and on average, these are longer than other genres. But 16GB will be a challenge to full up (I've filled up 14GB, so i'm close!), but i'm a MASSIVE music lover. So it's up to you to decide which size you need, based on your music library. To help you out, each album on average is about 70MB. So get counting!
These MP3 players are a far cheaper alternative to the iPod. A 16GB i ...
