Samsung YP-S5 2GB

I have had the Samsung now for a couple of years and haven't had any issues with the player so far.

The player has a few good points but is let down by a few also. The fold out speaker is a great addition and is louder than most mobile phones which answers the question, why buy this instead of using my mobile? Battery life is also very good and will last me a good week between recharges, though I’m sure there are those that will listen ...
...or photo features on the Samsung so cannot review these.

Overall I would only recommend this if you need the speaker for a purpose, I don’t use it very often so I do wish I had gone for a more compact less bulky option for a mp3 player. It still rates a good for me though as I can not really knock it down for my own poor choice in a player to buy.

Battery life is also very good and will last me a good week between recharges, though I’m sure there are those that will listen to their music more than I do. Battery life is obviously greatly depreciated when listening to music through the speaker instead of through headphones.

I can't really complain about the storage space as if I wanted it to have more I could have just shelled out a little bit more for the 8GB version of it.

The menu is easy to get along with once you are used to it but can take a while to get used to. I have pretty large fingers so find the touch pad quite difficult to get along with and am often pressing buttons I don't mean to press. Other problems is that it does not come with a mains charger and can only be charged via a USB port, which can be annoying at times especially as it takes a while to charge, especially when the battery is run right down.

The sound quality is very good from the speaker, but also depends on the file type and quality.

I have not yet experienced any software issues with it and really it just does what I want it to do, it plays me my music and passes the time a little bit faster while at work.

I don’t use the radio or photo features on the Samsung so cannot review these.
