However, this is a great sized mp3 player, with its slimline design being ideal for pockets, but still large enough to notice if you put it down somewhere so as not to forget picking it back up again!

The Samsung player is fairly easy to use and involves lightly touching the keypad on the front of the player itself, which takes some getting used to at first, especially when scrolling through a playlist! Best advice is not to press too firmly as you will end up scrolling past the track you are looking for! The buttons on the touchpad are self-explanatory with the usual icons for play,pause, power, skip and the cursor to scroll down and up.
The colour screen is a nice feature but as this MP3 player also stores pictures, this explains the need for the colour screen naturally. I don't use the picture storage facility personally, preferring to use the storage for music. However, the option is there if you want it. One thing I have noticed is quite often, if I have ripped tracks off a CD, the picture of the album cover will appear on the screen as the track is playing, which is quite a novel feature.
ADDING MP3s:
Adding tracks could not be easier as the device relies on Windows Media Player. Admittedly this can cause problems for those who use iTunes but I'm sure those who use iTunes are probably more technically-minded than me as to how to go about remedying this!
I am a technophobe so if I can use this player effectively, anyone can. Essentially you just add the tracks you wish to convert to a Windows Media Player sync list (all this is explained in the manual so I won't drone on too much) and then click the convert icon and the job is done.

The earphones supplied with the player are very similar to those supplied with ipods. I'm old-fashioned and prefer traditional headphones but I found the earphones supplied a cut above the rest as they fit in my ears nicely and don't tend to fall out, even when I'm working out in the gym. They have a pretty decent sound as well.
The player comes with a specialist USB connection cable to link the player with the pc as the player does not have a USB connection itself, unlike some other players. This can be a downfall if you lose the cable I guess but I'm sure you could probably buy a replacement.
DISADVANTAGES :
The biggest downfall with the player is that like some of the ipods my friends have, it is not one that works by replacing the battery as it runs out and unfortunately, to charge the player you have to link it up with pc via the provided usb cable. Therefore if you are travelling and not going within a mile of a pc, the chances are the battery will run out. The battery life is fairly good but I don't think it's ever lasted the full 35 hours it is supposed to!
However, you can purchase a USB mains charger for around £10-15 from quite a few stores to combat this.
One of the other problems I have noticed with the player is that it has on occasion frozen for no reason. This is easily remedied however as there is a reset button on the bottom of the player (you won't reset the memory and lose your tracks though so don't panic) and the player will work as normal once this has been done.
All in all though, it is nifty, easy to use and does the job nicely.

Bought the YP-Z5 earlier this year at a cost of £80 to replace my second broken Creative Micro (just don't buy!). Anyway so far Im impressed:
Build:
First thing you notice when you take this out of the box is how good it looks. Its made of stainless steel and brushed metal and it has a sturdy, robust feel. Although not as tiny and ... ...and weight as It fits well in the palm. The player uses a combination of touch controls and buttons. The central touch-pad works very easily and isn't half as bad as people make out it to be, after a few minutes practice it feels natural. Another nice feature is the seperate metal volume control on the side, which saves you accidently blasting your music when trying to change songs (happens many times on other MP3 players!).

...tons of FAQ's on the samsung website to do with the YP-Z5 and I would probably have been lost without them! I really don't see why Samsung didn't provide a decent manual.
The battery lasts for quite a long time, but you have to charge it via USB lead, and they don't give you a plug which is very inconvenient when travelling abroad. Because of this, I had to purchase a plug adaptor. It didn't cost much, but it would have been a lot easier if they ... ...well, it is very clear. The volume goes quite high - so much that you can hear it without putting the earphones in if you are in a quiet room! The buttons are easy to use, and the up, down and enter buttons are touch-sensitive which gives it a little bit exra something. You can connect to a computer very easily and you can even add pictures to the mp3.
Overall, I think this is a grat little gadget and I'm very glad I got it. I would reccommend it ...

This mp3 has everything you could want on an mp3 player. it looks great. it is a thin design. Comes in a range of colours which i believe are black, silver, and pink, and maybe white. It has a large screen far bigger than ipods have and has a brightly coloured screen. you can also persnoalise the background which also helps it suit the requirements.It has the hold button on the top of the mp3 which you can switch ... ...situated at the top of the mp3. The volume buttons to turn it up and down are on the right hand side of the mp3 and fit in quite well there. The directional buttons are touch buttons..So they only ned to be tapped..But the buttons around the dierctional buttons are not touch and are regualr ones.
The headphones are well designed and allow the music to go very loud. It is able to hold colour pictures and a large number of songs. It has to be charged ...
