**SanDisk Cruzer Fleur - USB Flash Drive -- 2GB**
- Welcome to the Cruzer Fleur flash drive -

*- SanDisk history-*

The Cruzer Fleur flash drive is made by SanDisk - US. They have the highest volumn as in (sales per unit) for data storage world wide. -- SanDisk specialises in small potable storage units and memory cards. Their Headquaters are based in California. Going by the fleur model brief it looks as if the product designers have been hanging out the promenade and have caught sunstroke; hence the 'California Girl' model. It is aimed at the career girlie market with this branding.

Initially SanDisk was the 'brain child' of Dr. Eli Harari in 1988; He started out by designing the most smallest memory card. The branding was not known till the mid 1990's, whereby nano technology was well sought after. It wasn't marketed till the late1990's, whereby the portable drive became a necessity for data storage space. The memory Keys were to be exported to over 200,000 major retail outlets.

It reads at a transfer rate of 28MB's per second and that is halved still when transfering data from the key to another PC/workstation. The USB key can communicate from different digital components -- such as MP3 Players -- Digital Cameras -- Handsets -- and most portable digital devices.

Please note that the speed won't be that noticeable; unless you are transferring a file of over 256MB; then the speed of transferring would be an issue; especially if you transferring film data or MP3/Wav audio on a large scale. The flash drive memory key facilities are a lot cheaper than other memory systems such as EECOM products. Flash Memory is still relatively new and has already made an impact on memory storage methods.

The SanDisk Cruzer Fleur flash memory key for 2GB is £15.99 -- 9/10 value for money. 3/10 for design and gimmick worth. It is worth a shop around as these types of storage memory components have always got a deal on.

-Overal verdict-

Worth it's price and is gimmick orientated; for those of you who like a deal, this is one for the future. Extreme Kitch visually that could be worth a few pounds in ten years or so. It has a well thoughout simple pin protector as it slides back and forth. Has a fun quality along with a key-ring option. I'm not that convinced about the 'pink head/top' protector - It is very useful as a portable storage drive. 2GB of storage is not to be sneezed at; but appearance wise, it's rather un-savoury for me, a tad too sweet and not a good idea to have hanging around the office, if your a Marlborough man.

However, it looks as if it belongs in the bedroom; not on a USB port hub collecting data for storage. The driver is compatible for Mac/PC users.
