SanDisk Micro Cruzer 1GB
Although there are many higher capacity models of this Cruzer Micro, I find very handy the 1GB one for the most common usage which doesn't involve the transfer of video files (which are usually the biggest in size).

...even heard of this brand SanDisk but it has become very very popular lately and I have to say, of all the products I bought that were made by this brand none of them has yet failed me. FEATURES SUMMARY
Some of its features can be here summarized: * USB 2.0 (backward compatable to USB 1.1) * Green Progress LED to show when moving / reading data * Windows compatable * Dimensions: 7.9mm x 18.95mm x 52.2mm (H x W x L) * Hi-Speed USB 2.0 certified (backwards compatible with all USB 1.1 ports) * Compatible with Windows 2000 SP4 and XP * Certified Windows XP
BAD POINTS?
Honestly I don't expect much from a flash drive but that it does its job properly and doesn't give compatiblity problems... so I am very happy with this product. I don't know what I could complain of. It works good and fast (as fast as a USB 2.0 goes), it's nice looking and damage-proof thanks to its rubber layer... so no, I can't really list any bad point.
PRICE AND FINAL CONSIDERATIONS
This flash drive can be purchased on Play.com for £5.99 which is perhaps not the greatest deal right now since the 4GB one costs £6.49 (only 50p more) or else you can buy two of 4GB each for £10.49! So, no, I do not suggest to purchase this model but I do suggest one of its bigger brothers of the same brand because they are very valid. I have also bought the 4GB and 8GB. My father now uses the 1GB one for work where he only needs it for MSOffice documents, so nothing extraordinary big, while you might want to go for the 4GB or 8GB if you're planning to store or transfer pictures and videos.
Advantages: U3 system, LED light Disadvantages: Not big enough capacity
Having had a USB drive for about 6 years and them constantly breaking or literally falling apart i though it was time to switch to a different make from the range of Bytestor drives i have used. My first drive cost me £25 for a megre 128MB but with the cheap range now available, i was able to pick up this 1GB drive for under £15.
As for the design there is no removable lid (which i normally manage to break) but instead the USB connector is stored ... ...the white opener (centre of picture). This makes the whole drive feel much more solid and there is less chance of it breaking. The only problem with it though is that it collects dust easier but thats not a really big problem.
As with all new drives they are USB 2.0 which means that transfer is quick and effiecient. That is it about everything for the technical detail but the thing that separates it with all my past drives and others i have seen ...

Advantages: Big storage and small Disadvantages: potential loss of "secure" data.
...MB and 2 GB. Sandisk supplies this USB 2.0 High-Speed Flash with a strap and 2 different colourful covers. It's about 5 cm in length and about 1 cm high which makes it very small considering its storage space. Unfortunately, it makes it also easy to lose or to forget even with the strap attached.
There are several extras supplied with it:
- CruzerLock 2 for so-called data security
- Trial version of PocketCache (back-up)- 7 days
- Trial version ... ...days
Whereas I never used the two trial versions, the reason being they are trial versions and just sit around on my PC taking up space and memory. From what I gather you can synchronise your personal settings and files from Outlook/IE/Photos... with other PCs you happen to be using.
The CruzerLock feature is rather good in that it provides a facility to hide/securely store data on a secured area. It comes password-protected so can be termed secure ...

Advantages: Very small, cheap (at time of purchase) Disadvantages: Weak keyring hook design, not as fast as other drives
...one.
I saw the Sandisk Cruzer Micro at under £13 delivered for an OEM version and decided to buy it, Sandisk are a reputable brand and the drive looked pretty small.
Appearance
--------------------
When it arrived, it came in a brown jiffy bag with just the clear plastic cover, which is no big deal because I hardly ever read instructions or install software, and the lack of packaging means it's kinder to the environment :D
The actual drive is ... ...out of metal (with the rubber cover protecting it) and it has a plastic keyring hook on the end.
Performance
--------------------
When plugged into my Apple PowerBook, it was detected immediately and the green light on the end lit up. It flashes to indicate data transfer.
I decided to try some performance tests by copying a folder, 100mb in size containing 8.4 megapixel photographs to the drive and back again. This was on my G4 1.33GHz laptop ...

Advantages: Small, Stylish, Quite Robust Disadvantages: Might get lost easily
...to get it!!
The SanDisk Cruzer Micro is the usual hot swappable device (can be changed whilst the computer is on) and is accessed using a usb slot on you computer. It runs on a USB 2.0 which means it is the newer version of USB meaning transfer speeds are quicker, yet it is also backwards compatible.
There is not much you have to say about this, it does exactly what it says on the tin!!! it stores information from documents, music and all other ... ...remarkable because i use it all the time- However i did almost lose it becuase its so light you cannot feel it (is that a design problem .... i dunno!!)
Overall it is great value for money and allows you to do what you want with a Flash drive - transfer data easily, quickly, effectively and safely without having to carry lots of documents or CDs/DVDs
PS i have said that the manufacturer support and instruction manual are excellent however to be ...

Advantages: Nice design, relativly cheap, good amount of space Disadvantages: can be a problem on networked computers
The SanDiskcruzermicro provides a great portable storage device and a good price. The slick design is what originally got me buying this flashdrive. The 1gb is a great amount of space on such a small disk. It's great for storing programs and applications. And with the U3 technology you can also take anti virus software with you wherever you go. It's clever slide away design is also very cool and great if you keep loosing the tops from them... Like me
However one down point with this is that it will not work on networked computers unless you plug it in before you log on or you have admin rights. It works on Windows Vista, XP and on an Xbox 360. (I listen to my music from it).
I would recommend buying this but probably get one with a larger amount of memory if you are going to be using it for music/photo's and applications. if ...
