Design

The MP3 measures 3.5 by 1.7 by 0.5 inches and weighs 2.6 ounces, 1.8-inch screen which is a decent size to navigate through your music. It is much bigger than the Nano's 1.5-inch screen. Although the screen is bright and colorful, it has a maximum resolution of only 220x176 and 65,000 colors and so it is not the best option if you want an MP3 player designed for high quality photos and videos but if your like me, these extra features are nice but not essential. However, the colour interface and the well-designed menu system, gives the player a great look and feel. Navigation is done with a variation of the click-wheel, this is more mechanical in feel but nevertheless just easy to use. This allows you to play, skip, go back through tracks whilst also allowing you to control the volume.

To start with, I'm very impressed with this MP3 and its quality, considering its price. The player is small, and fairly light. The screen is excellent quality and a descent size which allows easy and clear navigation. Although, if I was to be honest, I won’t be using it to play videos or store and view photos as the screen size and quality is not quite suitable for these features. The player in general is very easy to use, the dial is extremely easy to use and is not much different from the Ipod’s click wheel. Ultimately it was extremely easy to setup and start adding my music collection just through looking at the quick reference guide rather than the user guide.

To put music on the MP3 all you have to do is drag and drop using the software provided or by using Windows Media Player 10. The display is informative when playing music. The sound so far is excellent. However, I would recommend that you invested in a new pair of headphones as the ones provided are not great.

The navigation dial glows in a bright blue, which looks good. It allows you to scroll through menu items and to increase/decrease the volume. Following the precedent set by other companies. The USB connector is of course proprietary. This is currently the only way to charge the Sansa which is not a problem, but I would advise you not to lose it. This isn't a concern to me personally as it is just as easy to charge with this than a wall-charger.
It comes with a small velvet pouch which is good and does its job by protecting the MP3.
