I bought this mp3 player about a week ago and it is very impressive indeed. This player is compact easy to user and top quality sound.
Boxed - In the box you get the player, usb cord, cdrom, carry-case (scratch proof), 1 AAA battery, and headphones. Also the carry case comes with a Velcro strap, which is very handy to strap the mp3 player on your person.
Controls/Design The buttons are easy to use and do not stick. The player has a menu button (which doubles as the power button) at the top. The play/pause, repeat, forward and backward buttons are on the face. The microphone is situated on the bottom of the player and the headphone and usb connections are on the left hand side of the player. The LCD screen is small but still easily readable. The screen has a very bright backlight, which is bright blue, this lights up when ever you press any button so it is easy to see at nighttime. This backlight can be turned off to save on battery life.
Durability/battery life I have heard that this player has a tendency to break easily, the battery flap coming off and if you drop it, it tends not to work. My answer to this is you get what you pay for. If you are careful with then it won't break, I have used mine for the gym and no problems so far. As yet I have not had to replace the battery and I have used it for the gym twice and I walk the dog every day so it hast lasted at least 8 hours or more
Sound The sound this player is excellent. You have to fiddle with the equalizer to get your sound quality just right. The volume is quite loud not as loud as my previous mp3 player so as to drown out external noise but still loud enough so that you hear it quite clearly when you are out and about. The standard headphones, which are supplied, are rubbish; I recommend binning them and buy some decent ones to really appreciate this player.
Usability This is one of the easiest and convenient to use mp3 players I have had the pleasure of owning. User-friendly menu, which is easy to navigate, and simple to use. Transferring files, sorting songs and creating playlists are simple to do. There is a shuffle option. The only niggle with this player is the fact that it will ONLY work with XP. The M230 does not support anything pre windows XP or MACS.
Other Features Stopwatch - useful for runners or sports persons. Radio - Great reception and you can get all of your favourite radio stations. However you cannot record from the radio to mp3.
Recorder - simple voice recorder, record yourself or other with this handy tool. The volume on the recorder is not that high so make sure you don't record with a lot of background noise or otherwise you won't hear very much. You can also transfer these files to you pc.
Price: You can find this player at amazon £24.99. Seems to be the cheapest place I could find
This is a very compact, stylish, portable mp3 player, which is designed on a flash memory chip. Therefore it also works as a flash drive. I would recommend this drive to anyone, as it is well priced and perfect for the gym or sports person.
