Advantages Advantages Crisp, refreshing and thirst quenching

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not a lot of character or complexity

For me, one of the great things about travelling is having the chance to sample the many different beers that are sometimes hard to find back home. SAN MIGUEL however, doesn't really fall into this category as it's widely available in supermarkets in the UK for around a quid a bottle. In fact Spain is not really the best country in the world to visit if your sole purpose is gorge on top quality, innovative brews...but the weather is a whole lot better than in Belgium, that's for double-damn sure. Yes sirree, it can get really hot under that Mediterranean sun and what could be better on a ... more

Advantages Advantages Great taste, Good price, Great mate!!!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Might blow his top!

I'd like to introduce you to a very good friend of mine. Like all good friend, he's been there through thick and thin. When I've needed him during the bad times he's always been there to keep me company and ease the pain, and during the good time, well, he's a complete party animal, what a guy! Ladies and Gentleman, my best mate, Mr. San Miguel! Now San is a man of many guises. I remember the time we were at that Bar-B-Q and San was acting the goat, dressing up in a 250ml bottle and piling on the strength until he was up to 5.4%. He it's his Spanish origin, and that whenever he's 'exported' ... more

Advantages Advantages A refreshing tasty beer.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Hard to track down at the offy.

I love beer. I know that will not shock anyone who knows me on my normal Friday nights out but are you aware of what beers I drink? We all go for Budweiser if there is nothing else because, well, everywhere sells bottle of Bud dont they? It is possibly for this reason that so many people are missing out on the other bottled delights waiting for them in the chiller cabinet. Maybe it is because these beers are not trendy that they do not get drunk. Maybe it is because they are not as well advertised. One thing is for sure. If you have not tried it, Busweiser is no match for the cool refreshing ... more

The origins of San Miguel go all the way to the Philippines where Spanish monks started making beer by using traditional methods. The monks lived in Manila and in a district called “San Miguel”.
