At a glance:-
* Size: 3.1 x 1.9 x 0.3 in - A very small mp3 player- It can easily fit in the palm of my hand and is very thin and light in weight. Excellent for taking to the gym as it is so small and light.
* Capacities: 2GB, 4GB, 8GB (microSD slot) - I bought the 4GB Sansa with an extra 4GB microSD card. The card was only ~£7 to buy and easily slotted into the side of the player doubling the capacity of the machine. It is possible to buy a few of these cards so you can store your films on them and carry them around in a case so when you want to watch them you have it there with you stored on a tiny card.
* Screen: 1.9?, 64k color, 224x176 pixel - The screen is excellent quality and is great for watching films on. However, it is quite small but then the player is small so that's the compromise.
* Audio: MP3, WMA, WAV, AA - The sound quality is brilliant with a setting to change the type of sound for each individual track you are playing.
* Video: Converted MPEG-4 20FPS - The capacity for video is fun as it means that you can watch films.
* Battery: 24 hours audio / 5 hours video - The battery life has been lasting me ~20 hours which is great.
OPENING THE SANSA When you get your Sansa Fuze it comes in a box with proprietary USB cable, and earbuds. However a wall charger does not come with it. I bought a wall charger separately which was £10 from Amazon so I can charge it when I am on holiday without my laptop.
DESIGN The wheel is made of matte plastic that fits in well with the design. The rotation of the wheel is smooth. The player has a 'velvet-like rubber' on the back plate which is extremely resistant to wear and tear; it?s also nice to keep it from sliding out of your hand!
FEATURES - Radio The reception is as good as radio reception gets on an mp3 player and the auto program feature only the clear stations. It can also record radio in WAV format but the function is very basic. It does however, have the ability to set the duration of the recording. This may be handy if you like recording your favourite radio show.
-Voice Recording Voice recording also uses WAV format, but it does not have the ability to set the duration of the recoding. The feature works quite well and picks up sound well from the mic located right below the microSD slot. Not sure if it can be used as a Dictaphone though as it was not great at recording the lectures I went to.
-Photo Viewer This feature works like most other photo viewers with list or thumbnail views available. Slide intervals can be set for the slide show with or without music.
- microSD Slot The microSD memory will allow you to add up to 12GB of extra memory to the device. The card integrates with the player to create one menu of songs, videos, photos etc. When transferring music the memory card shows up as a separate storage in transfer mode on your computer, so you will be able to choose where to put your music and photos.
TRANSFERRING MUSIC This is very simple and is done using Windows Media player so there is not need to install software on your computer. The 'drag and drop' method is very quick and easy.
