Appearance - Very pretty piece of kit. The front is glossy, the back an nice tasteful matt black. When you turn it on, the wheel glows a lovely blue and a pleasing welcome message appears. The screen is clear and sharp. There are smaller players, but it has a good feel in the hand and is big enough so I don't lose it, but small enough I can take it in my handbag.
Functionality - Excellent. Plug the USB cable into any computer and simply drag and drop music folders into it. A simple bit of software supplied provided allows you to do the same with pictures and movies. So far have had no problems with either. Operating the View is also easy and intuitive, using the wheel on the front. Menus are easy to use, and you can view in a number of different ways, such as by artist, by albumn. Pics can be shown in a slideshow too. Although it's a cheap player, they have taken some time to make sure the software is fairly decent.
Sound and video - Sound quality is good enough for me, although apparently not as good as some more expensive players. But if like me you are using it on the train or other noisy situations, I don't think I've noticed the difference. It is better than other MP3 players I've owned so it's certainly not a bad one, but those with high-end requirements, might be disappointed. Video is also very good considering the screen size. Haven't noticed any lag or problems with playback.
Battery life - when I bought the View I was dissapointed it didn't come with a mains charger. However, a full charge via USB takes a couple of hours and lasts for around 30-40 hours depending on what you are doing. As it charges when you are adding content via the USB cable, it tends to top it up quite well, so it's been rare I've found it with no charge (even after a week of travelling).
Adding space - you can also add an extra 8Gb by inserting a mini-SD card. I've used the card I have for my phone, and it works fine. Shows all the photos I've taken and the music I have stored. Will probably buy a card for it when I reach the 16GB limit, but that won't be for a bit!
Good bits - feels nice in your hand, looks nice when you turn it on and the lights come on, easy to use, expandable memory, excellent value
Bad (ish bits) - can't use own backdrop, no mains charger, comes with some content on it that can't be deleted (pics, tunes etc), headphones supplied are a bit rubbish
