    Disadvantages Disadvantages Customer service lacking in every area, hard to get the card

    I applied for this card as it was offered to me while i was doing some online banking. The application form online takes about 10 minutes to complete and the decision is posted to you within 7 days. I received a letter advising that i had been accepted and to return the credit agreement and direct debit form in the envelope provided, my current 0% deal was coming to the end and i thought to ensure i can transfer my balance quick enough i would return the agreement and direct debit form via special delivery so it arrives the next day and is processed before i have to pay interest.     Disadvantages Disadvantages the only way to deal with them is in an enviroment where you can prove what was said

    do not trust anything said by them - ignore any verbal statements made by them as they will simply turn round and say 'we never said that'. I did not order a credit card and when one arrived i telephoned them and told them i never applied for it. They obtained all the personal detail from me through a series of 'security' questions' which i was dumb enough to answer. I received a statement from them with admin and non usuage charges. I wrote to them and they telephoned me and sadi the account was closed and i need not pay them. 2 months later and now their debt collectors are demanding £122.90 ... more

    Charges on my card appeared that I did not recognise. I called to dispute. They said they were going to send me documents to sign, but then sent one page for each transaction so you can imagine the paperwork I received (over 20 transactions). The following month, the charges were removed except for 2 or 3. Called again and they said they were going to remove these. I was sent separate documents asking me to sign after ticking the charges I didn't recognise. I DID tick all the ones I DIDN'T recognise but was honest about 2 I actually DID recognise and charged legitimately. I sent this back ... more

    Do not apply for a Santander credit card if you are looking for a quick turnaround on your application as you will be bitterly disappointed. My main current account is also with Santander and you would imagine that this would speed things up but it didnt. I made numerous calls to Santander in order to chase up the application and was told there was no record, even though there was TWO searches on my credit file.
