Sanyo KA TD-H10W Stand

Advantages: Nice flat screen with easy tuning.
Disadvantages: Not the best picture you would expect from a 32 in widescreen.

...This tv looks the part especially on the stand that comes with it, however don't judge a book by its cover! It can at times seem like you have bought an old telly in new skin, although it is relatively easy to tune it can frustrate you at times with pointless indications of what to do next. The picture to me is not all that you would expect from a television costing as much as it does, and although I bought mine knowing that Sanyo are not top of the range I thought it wouldn't matter picture quality wise. I was wrong, the picture itself seems it was made for a smaller screen and then stretched. I know that in essence this is what happens with widescreen but not to the point that this one goes to. On the whole I would give this a 6/10 as it is okay for the price and if you aren't really a telly head or the kids watch it all day... Read review

...I was looking for my first widescreen television and, after a very poor experience with a Toshiba from Comet which eventually went back for a full refund, I settled on this television from Powerhouse. I am no expert and I had not got a lot of money to spend. My criteria were that it had to be 28" (because I did not fancy peering at a screen that was less tall than my old standard shape television) it had to be stereo, it had to be affordable (i.e., around £300) and, ideally, it had to sound good. The Sanyo came at the right price (though a stand was an extra £40) and, to my mind at least, looks very smart. It is not a flat screen, but it looks like one and only close up examination reveals that it is not. ...I'm no expert on tv's! I've recently bought one of these, I was attracted by the price which was very reasonable compared with similar spec tv's. Mine came complete with a stand - not sure if this is standard or whether it depends on where you buy it from. Setting it up was easy, just plug everything in to it, dvd, sky decoder etc and it does it all for you within a few minutes. The picture is very sharp and clear, my boyfriend who is a bit more of a connoiseur than me, was pretty impressed by the picture quality. The tv has a few features that aren't standard on other similar makes, it has a 3d sound effect which can be selected. It sounded ok but not sure it made an awful lot of difference.
