Sanyo PLC SU10N

One essential for a truly mobile projector is lightness. Magnesium die-casting gives the PLC-SU10 Series a lightweight but extremely tough and durable body which also shields from... more...electromagnetic interference. You can leave your computer in the office and still make your presentation thanks to the PC card slot. The PLC-SU10 Series can project JPEG and bitmap files from PC cards, including the SmartMedia cards used in SANYO digital cameras (with adapter). You can create even more effective presentations by using the file converter MCI (Media Card Imager) software included with the projector. These projectors automatically recognize the signal coming from the computer and select the best settings for projection. There is no complicated setup and anyone can get good results anytime. This feature is not compatible with some less common computer models. The digital zoom magnifies up to 16 times in 0.4x steps. SANYO's original DRIT technology eliminates jagged edges on small letters and lines so that even highly magnified images appear crisp and clear. This zoom is all you need to make your presentations bigger and clearer than ever. Most LCD projectors use metal halide lamps. This series of SANYO projectors, however, uses a newly developed 120-watt UHP lamp that offers exceptional brightness while actually consuming less power. The PLC-SU10 Series also has a revolutionary prism system which "recycles" light energy that is wasted as heat in other projectors. This Polarized Beam Splitter (PBS) optical system delivers 600 ANSI lumen screen brightness, so even though these mobile projectors are lightweight and very portable, they are powerful enough for clear viewing without the need to dim the room lights. Non-polarized parallel light enters the PBS prism. The prism separates the light into P-wave and S-wave components, converting the P-wave light into S-wave light through a phrase-contrast plate. The UHP lamp used in these projectors is close to a point-source light, with a high degree of parallelism. UHP lamps offer higher efficiency and last up to 2, 000 hours, which is substantially longer than metal halide lamps. The image quality of an LCD projector is determined to a great extent by its liquid crystal panels. SANYO is a leader in the field and the PLC-SU10 Series uses three state-of-the-art 804 x 604-dot high-density polysilicon panels, one each for red, blue and green. These three panels together give a total of 1.56 million pixels to ensure genuinely high-resolution, full-color reproduction of SVGA (800 x 600 dots). SANYO's Digital Realized Interpolation Technology, or DRIT, ensures that the projected image quality is high for XGA and VGA input signals, which differ from the original resolution of the liquid crystal panels. SANYO's unique algorithms ensure clear and crisp projection of XGA spreadsheet and graphics as well as VGA presentations.

Sanyo PLC-SU20 A Good All-Rounder

Advantages: Very Robust, Well Constructed, Will Last A Lifetime!
Disadvantages: No lamp counter

sanyo projector model's name will begin with PLC this is then followed (usually) by either SU or XU (these two are the most common). There will usually be and SU and an XU fo every model, for example a PLC-SU20 and a PLC-XU20. These will both fundamentally be the same, but the XU20 would be slightly better specification and therefore slightly more expensive. The XU models tend to be more desirable and achieve higher prices when it comes to resale, however, many models are no different to one another specification wise, so you may as well save abit of money and just buy the SU model. Sanyos ranges then go upin 10's accordingly. So the earliest are the SU10's, thenthere is the SU20's, SU30's and so on. You can then have a PLC-SU20, a PLC-SU21, a PLC-SU22 etc. with slightly different specifications. But the important thing you need to know is ...

Review of Sanyo PLC XW50

Why the Sanyo SW30 is so good

Advantages: Cheap, lightweight
Disadvantages: Unusual power lead, manual focus

This projector is one of the cheapest projectors to offer SXGA and XGA (emulated) output. It's lightweight and thus portable, and many offers for it come with a free spare bulb, which normally retail for over £200 alone. The projector comes complete with 2 remote controls - one of which is used to control presentations eg powerpoint. The 2nd remote controls power on etc. One of the only downsides to this projector is the projector is manual focus - so if it's mounted on the ceiling it means standing on a chair to refocus it if needed. Overall I'd say it was certainly value for money - I've bought 10 of these units and have yet to have one either fail or even need a new bulb. They power up in under a minute and when turned off, the fan cools the bulb in under 5 mins, and you can pack up the projector (if used as a portable) in ...
