I have always tried to have the latest phone on the market but with the price of phones these days it's hard to keep up with technology. I had been looking for a new phone as my current one is just really poor on battery performance. I began the search just like many other people would yip I picked up the good old Argos book. Having a look through the Argos book I was some what disappointed with the range so I surfed on to www.orange.co.uk and checked out what they had. I was surprised to see this superb looking phone yes the Sanyo s750 mobile. I bough it there and then and could not wait for the phone to be delivered.

Sadly this phone is only available to the orange network; you can either have it on pre-pay, pay as you go or contract.

It's delivered~

On opening the bag it was delivered in I was delighted to see that orange had provided a free Christmas box for the phone to be placed in should it be for a gift. But of course it was for me. Inside the box you are provided with the following items~

Obviously the mobile phone

A battery that needs to be charged as soon as you put it in the phone

Usim card ~ this is the sim card that will allow you to use all the features on the phone.

Instruction booklet~ this consists of over 200 pages and it's very easy to follow with nice pictures that makes it a little more enjoyable to read.

Know how~ a booklet that provides with all details you may require about orange.

Top up card~ the card that allows you to top up any many outlets including Morrison's, Tesco's, and others.

Cd Disc~ you can install this in to your pc to allow you to mess about with pictures you have taken on the phone.

Headphones~ great idea to supply these with the phone. Good quality

**The look**

Ok it's not the best looking phone on the market but with all the features I am sure most people will be happy. Black and silver in colour with a massive LCD display screen (one of the biggest on the market) which makes it really easy to see what you're doing. It's a sliding phone which means all the main buttons are kept hidden whilst no in use. On the same side as the LCD display there is a camera lens (see camera below). As I have said most of the keys are hidden under the phone, the only keys you can see are menu key, call answer, call disconnect and the return key.

**Features**

Now like many phones on the market you can do the following text, call, set alarm clock, set reminders and the usual basic stuff. I will now tell you about the additional features that this phone offers~

*Video - Great quality here and certainly something I was delighted with. I have used the phone to make video calls to my wife on several occasions and I have always been very happy with the quality of the video. I could not believe how easy it was to set up the video call, simply selecting two options and there it was my wife and my family on my phone live. Truly amazing, I am still amazed that I am able to check in with the family at a click of a button. Ok it can be a little strange holding the phone on front of you to be in shot of the camera, once this which you need to keep in mind is that everyone can hear your conversation. The other thing I love about this video function is that you can record 5 seconds and send via a message. The quality of this is not as good as doing a live video call. One thing I have noticed is that should you move the phone a little too quick you will lose the picture.

Overall thoughts and rating ~ Love it and very happy ~ 10/10

*Camera - I could not believe the quality of pictures that this phone takes it's absolutely amazing, I would honestly say that this camera is better quality than some standard digital cameras on the market. Having two camera lenses on the phone certainly makes it easier to take pictures. The camera situated at the front of the phone is hidden under the sliding section, now believe it or not this phone actually has a flash set right beside the main lens. When taking the pictures you need to make sure that the phone is set to the correct settings or you will soon run out of space. Well there again is not that bad if you do run out of space to store pictures all you need to do is slot in any SD memory card and bobs your uncle. As well as store pictures on the phone you can send as a message or email. Oh just before I forget to tell you call about another cool feature with the camera. Now lets set the picture here, you are trying to get that all important picture of the kids doing something but they keep moving. Well you can set this camera to take up to 16 continuous shots one after the other. There is also a self timer which you can use to capture self portraits which I feel you don't need to use as there is a camera on the front of the phone (same side as screen) which is really easy to use and you can see what picture your taking.

Overall thoughts and rating~ I don't think I can complain about a phone that has two cameras and offers super quality pictures~ 10/10

*Bluetooth - A feature that I think should be standard with all mobile phones these days but it is certainly not. Well this phone gives you this feature too. I have used it so many times to send pictures to my wife's phone and I can say it's very quick at transferring data. I have also transferred music, ring tones and phone numbers via blue tooth. Now I also use blue tooth to connect my hands free device to the phone to. Now the range of the blue tooth seem to be very good as I have sometimes forgot that I have my head set on and placed the phone in one room and walked away to the other and the connection is still there. Another good thing with the blue tooth is that you can have it set to accept all incoming data or have it set to ask for permission for all.

Overall and thoughts~ Great and very easy to use ~ 10/10

*Infrared - similar to blue tooth this feature allows you to send and receive data without being charged. This is certainly not as easy as I thought it would be. You need to activate infrared and then line the two phones together before starting to send via infrared. Now should you move the phone even the smallest fraction then you will get the famous error "communication error" and you will need to start all over again. I would suggest that you send via Bluetooth and only use infrared as a last resort.

Overall and thoughts~ Difficult to use ~ 5/10

*Email - I never thought for one second I would be stuck in traffic and what would I be doing? Yes I sent my first email via my telephone. I was stuck on the M8 (not relevant to this review but set the scene) for about 40 minutes at a complete stand still so I decided to mess about with my phone. In to the email function and popped the receivers address in and then created an email just like I was texting the person. Hit the send button and that was it sent, easy as that. I was MEGA impressed with how easy it was to send. Since sending my first email I have read all about the email function and I am still impressed with it. You are able to send up to 1000 words as an email which I think is great.

Overall and thoughts~ Super mega easy ~ 10/10

*Built in hands free~ at the touch of a button you will have turned the phone in to a hand free unit that will activate a loud speaker to allow you to hear voice calls without having the phone next to your ear. This does exactly what it says the quality is super and I have always been very happy whilst using this. Obviously the microphone picks up noise that is around the phone so if you have the radio on and you are using this feature expect the caller to ask you to turn it down.

Overall and thoughts~ Works very well and its safe ~ 10/10

*Texting~ Nice and easy to text on this phone with the option for the predictive texts messaging I am able to send messages very easily. I have currently 31 messages stored in my inbox and I have not been asked to delete any yet. I am not sure how many messages the phone can hold. Texting is very easy and straight forward, you can take the number from your phone book or you can key in a number should you not have it stored in your phone. I love the fact that I can get a delivery report when the message is delivered. The spell checker on the phone is also good and you can add any word that you want too which is also really good too. I always use predictive text when texting and some times the phone will not know what I am trying to spell; I can easily tell the phone what I am trying to spell. Love the ease of sending messages. If your like me then when you get texting you can soon write over 2/3 messages worth well that's not a problem for this phone as it will send it as one message.

Overall and thoughts~ Gr8 and easy 2 use ~ 10/10

*Making and receiving calls~ I think the volume is certainly loud enough for most people and it's definitely loud enough for me. It's very clear when you're talking to someone; I can say it's certainly one of the clearest phones I have ever used. I like the fact that you can adjust the ear piece volume at a touch of a button.

Overall and thoughts~ loud and clear ~ 10/10

*Ring tones and Vibration~ would you believe me when I say there are 72 pre-loaded polyphonic ring tones on this phone? Well there are and I can tell you right now you are going to find one that you like, obviously you have your normal boring ones (ring ring) right through to your Christmas tunes. I have since added a few of my own tunes which friends sent me via Bluetooth. I love the fact that you can have a different ring tone for very sort of call, I.e. messages, Vide call, etc. This phone also has 5 different vibrations modes and you can even choose how long the phone vibrates for. Now there is also another great feature within this phone….. Women you can change colour of the flashing light to match your dress yes there are 5 different colours on this phone.

Overall and thoughts~ loud and clear ~ 10/10

*Battery~ possibly one of the biggest factor that most people consider when buying a mobile telephone. Well I can tell you that this battery will last you a very impressive 7 day whilst on standby, now I say 7 days but that will soon change should you start using the phone for calls and texting then you will find yourself charging this phone once every 2/3 days. I was also pleased to realise that the charge only takes 4hrs to completely charge the phone. Just a little warning you do not get a pre-warning that the battery is about to die, you only know that the battery is dead when the phone beeps and says "please recharge me" and then switches off.

Overall and thoughts~ can't fault it ~ 10/10

Final thoughts~

I have to say that this is certainly one of the best phones that I have ever had; ok there is always something you want to change on your mobile. The only thing I would change is the size of the Ariel as I think it's just a little too big for the phone. There are a few games on the phone but to be honest I don't tend to play games that often on my phones. I think Sanyo have done really well to produce such a high quality mobile phone for there first attempt. This phones demonstrates that Sanyo have done there home work. I think that this phone is well worth the £50.00 I paid for it and I would no have any problem recommending this phone to anyone. I would say that Sanyo have made this phone for any age group as its very easy to use and the features are great. A 3rd generation mobile phone with the capability of vide calls for £50.00!
