Sarah Waters Review
Review of Fingersmith - Sarah Waters by  Dana_Leigh

Advantages: Good Plot with exciting twists
Disadvantages: Slow at the start but picks up rapidly

...I absolutely love Sarah Waters. Some how she seems to strike a balance between Lesbian interest and a damn good story. Sarah Waters is an author who works lesbian love into a natural story line, without the filthy sex and scandal. It's nice to buy a book which doesnt sit under the 'gay interest' sections, because others regard her to simply be a great story teller. This means that although Water's main readers are interested in the Lesbian plot lines, these are interwovern into strong stories which would appeal to people interested in historically set fiction. The story is set in Victorian London, and tells the story of two orphan girls, living apart, but who's pasts and futures are linked by a mother and her gentleman thief. 'Sue Trinder' grows up with her 'mother' Mrs Sucksby, and 'Maud Lilly' grows up alone taken from... Read review

A truly strong and courageous woman. !
Review of A Mother's Story - Sarah Payne by  elaine16

Advantages: well wriiten book, very informative
Disadvantages:

...I have recently read the book A Mother`s story by Sara Payne. I am sure there is not a single person who would not recognise a photograph of the author, or indeed her daughter who was so cruelly abducted and murdered by known sex offender Roy Whiting. As the subject matter was quite harrowing I was unsure whether I really wanted to read this book, as the book was obviously going to be quite upsetting in places However I was intrigued to learn more about Sara Payne , as I believe she is a woman to be greatly admired for her great strength and convictions. The book begins when Sara was 16 years old and met her childhood sweetheart Mike who was to be the father of her four children with Sarah being the youngest. It then gives an insight into their happy ,although sometimes not perfect life. It soon becomes obvious... Read review

The Palace Diaries
Review of The Palace Diaries - Sarah Goodall by  mrsmopples

Advantages: A light hearted read yet brief look into Prince Charles bubble/aka the palace
Disadvantages: Lack of personal photo's.

...The Palace Diaries Written by Sarah Goodall and Nicholas Monsoon **** Introduction**** Written in 2006 and published in 2007, this 318 page hard back book had me gripped in almost every chapter. Hailed as "Racy, outrageous and hilarious - there's never been a Royal book like it. The Palace Diaries is a unique insider's view of what really went on during the most tumultuous period for the British monarchy, since the abdication of Edward VIII. On the cover is Miss Goodall, looking slinky and sassy in a Audrey Hepburn type pose, complete with Corgi. Her adoration and respect for Charles is paramount but I think this mostly comes from her loins, not from her heart. To be honest, I had never heard of this Miss Goodall. This book came upon be by pure chance whilst browsing through a leading book website. It was on offer at 75... Read review
