So you can imagine my delight when some well-meaning relative give me a bottle of Sarah Jessica Parker's 'Lovely' Eau de Parfum for my birthday. How could someone who knew me so well get it so wrong?
**A beautiful fragrance**
Important things first. The whole point of a perfume - what does it actually smell like?
I'm not some kind of perfume snob, I've just never liked 'celebrity perfumes'. They never seem to be very complex, deep fragrances - more the sort that a shop assistant attempts to make you try as you leave a department store, and you end up running for the door, desperate for fresh air... The dominant aroma often seems to be what my mother terms 'pee de la puss'.
Not so with 'Lovely'. Leave the celebrity clap trap behind ('something lovely stirs in the air'/'a fragrance as lovely as the woman who created it') - and what you get left with is just a gorgeous, elegant perfume.
Top notes of patchouli, paper whites and orchid combine with mid notes of cedar, white amber and musk; low notes include mandarin, bergamot, rosewood, lavender and apple martini.
I would say that the rosewood, apple and paper whites are especially apparent (at least on my skin!). To summarise, this is a sweet, floral fragrance - though not sickly 'girly' sweet. Sarah Jessica would have you believe that it would suit any woman from 17 to 107, but I would say that dominance of the sweeter tones mean that it is likely to be better suited to those in their 20s/30s.

The bottle is simple, yet attractive - a clear glass oval with a heavy base, it's extremely tactile and feels beautiful in your hand. This is accompanied by a small round stopper with vertical banding, and a little grey (elastic, would you believe it!) ribbon around the neck. The whole bottle has subtle soft pink tinge - very feminine. The box, too, is very distinctive: a subtle combination of baby pink and gold, which tones with the bottle inside.
**Conclusions**
Perhaps best of all, if you don't want to splash out on an expensive perfume, 'Lovely' is relatively reasonably priced. It is available in most department stores for around £25 for 100ml - yet you could be forgiven for thinking this is a much more expensive fragrance.
If, like me, you despise most celebrity perfumes, I encourage you to branch out and try this one. It may still not have some of the more subtle aromas of some of my favourite fragrances (Miss Dior Cherie, Coco Mademoiselle to name a couple), but Lovely is a charming, elegant perfume - extremely versatile, long-wearing but not overpowering, and beautifully feminine without being sickly sweet.

...was also because it was Sarah Jessica Parker who I love that I had to get it. As I wasn't sure about if I'd like it, I only bought the 30 ml bottle which was £18 from Superdrug (though I'm sure you can get it cheaper).
The bottle doesn't really stand out but it is still pretty. The bottle is an oval shape which is light pink tinted glass. The lake is a circle shape which is also tinted light pink glass with a gold spray dispenser which is visible ... ...find the perfume very fruity. Sarah Jessica Parker describes the perfume as romantic and I can see what she means, to me it does seem to have a romantic smell to it. I'd describe it as feminine, very sweet & romantic.
The perfume does last for a while, though the smell fades by the end of the day. Although it does fade you can still smell hints of it so you don't really have to apply if you don't want to. As it's only a 30ml bottle the bottle is ...

Sarah Jessica Parker Lovely Eau De Parfum Picked this perfume up from Boots recently, the main reasons are, Its new to the market, and I cant help trying out new perfumes, It looks very Stylish and the fact that I saw it on ciao.
I didn't go over the top, and brought the 50ml bottle, If I can afford it, I prefer to actually buy the perfume and take it home to test it out myself, as I don't think you get the same effect or feelings, by just sticking ... ...walk around in the rain carrying the rest of your shopping,
If you want to smell good, and show the perfume at its best, you got to look and feel good as well..
The Bottle itself, is very stylish in its own right, and sits nicely on the dressing table with the others.
Regardless of its ingredients, which I will list later, The perfume is a very pleasant smell, slightly sweet, but not overpowering as to be sickly, there's not anyone deep smell ...

I have bought this perfume on 3 occassions and keep going back for more.
Very light so ideal for daytime wear.
I have had alot of comments mainly off women i,m afaid asking what i am wearing, so definately would recommend it. it seems to last longer when i wear the body lotion also especially in the evening>
ideal for your handbag not to bulky!
Mine came in a gift set, so keep my body lotion in my gym bag.
Can,t say there is anything i don,t ... ...gift set!

The box is lovely that it comes in very feminine so would definately recommend as a present. The bottle is pretty too, have bought my daughter a gift set for christmas , she is 24 years , so would say suitable for any age group!!! ...

Sarah Jessica Parker has her own scent out just like any other star these days , i guess your nobody until you have your own perfume out!

I feel that it's more of a mature design with a rounded light pink bottle and lovely written on the side with a classic lid. This perfume is sickly sweet so it may not suite everyone's taste. ~*The scent*~

I was given this lovely fragrance as a birthday gift from my step-daughter, she managed to get a small tester bottle whilst away in France. I liked it so much I checked out Boots.com to see how much it was, approx costs were:
30ml - £22.00
50ml - £27.00
100ml - £39.00, you can get a couple of quid off from the cheaper on-line outlets e.g. cheap smells.com has the 50ml bottle for £21.54.
Packaging is a pinky/purple so it doesn't stand out on the ... ...of other pink bottled perfumes out there (do ask the assistant).
Perfume itself is nice & fresh if a little on the sweet side with, I think hints of fresh apples but with silky undertones and mingling of lavender. So I feel its a sweet, feminine and long-lasting perfume, great for day-time wear, quite spring-time in essence and would pick you up on a cold winters day.
The bottle is oval in shape with a flat bottom. The lid is circular in shape ...
