Mrs B went out on yet another shopping trip yesterday and she returned with so many bags of things I could just about see her through them all. Surprisingly, the majority of her purchases were clothes for Baby B and other treats for the little nipper including this Bumble Bee Bite.
This is essentially a fancy looking teethingy toy but it's designed to be more of a toy too. It's a great toy as it's really attractive-looking and captures my baby's attention right away.
It's basically a bumble bee which is black and white and coming out of the solid body are 4 wings which are the teething wings. Each wing is different:
The most exciting wing: The purple wing. This one is see through and filled withw ater so it feels nice on the baby's gums. As well as this this wing also vibrates when bitten which causes much delight to my baby!
The rattly wing: This is an orange see-through ring with 6 little balls iside it which slide around and rattle. This is the wing which Baby B likes to study as though she is doing brain surgery!
The green wing. No not the hospital TV show but a wing which is green with big purple lumps on it designed to massage the baby's gums as she gnaws.
The stripy wing. This wing has different coloured stripes on which is similar to the green wing as it is rigid so helps to massage the gums of the teething baby.
It's quite a heavy toy so Baby B has only just mastered how to hold it and quite often drops it or manages to hit herself on the head with it which is always a surprise! Mrs B thinks it's too heavy and should be more 'baby friendly' but children have to learn, a few knocks here and there are all about growing up!
The bee's vibrating function is really good although the vibration sounds just like a mobile phone vibrating so it can be quite disappointing to think you've suddenly had a load of texts and actually it's just the baby playing wth the bee!
It is really childfriendly as it's easy for them to grab as the wings are good fist-sized. They are also really easy to wipe clean so that's always a bonus when it comes down to baby things!
I think it's great money because of the variety of teething rings and the fact that it's not just a teething ring but a toy too.
My wife bought it from John Lewis' for £5.99 which is the usual kind of price for a teether toy which is great really as it does more than just be a teething ring. I would recommend them they are great! It definitely keeps baby B entertained for a good 20 minutes which is great!
Advantages: Different textures, bright colours Disadvantages: doesn't do what it should do!
I bought this bumble bee for my baby who is 4 months old so will be starting to teeth soon and she is just started to be interacting with toys so thought this would be really good.
What it is?
It is a teether, primarily. It is shaped to look like a bumble bee.It has four 'wings' which are all different- one is a rigid rubber with raised bobbly bits on, another is a rigid rubber with raised up rings on, another is a see through ring with little ... ...vibrates when bitten.
What is it's purpose?
It is a teether but it also is a toy as it has the rattle element with the ring with the balls. As a teether it is supposed to be soothing as it has one wing which is filled with water so it will be cool against the baby's gums. This wing also vibrates when bitten so is different to other water-filled teethers. The ridges on the two wings really help with teething and they're both different textures so ...

Advantages: cute and fun Disadvantages: very random vibrating!
I'm always looking for exciting looking toys for my baby and when I saw this I couldn't resist it! It's a teether but it's also a rattle and a toy too! Each of the wings are suitable for your babies to have a good chew on to help with their teeth coming through but there is one very special wing! This special wing is theh one on this picture in blue- although on my bee it's in purple. Inside it is filled with liquid so is squidgy between baby gums ... ...can't quit work out how it works though as sometimes it doesn't vibrate and other times it does... I think it may stop vibrating when it gets warm although don't quote me on that!
The other rings are great too theyre bright colours with different textures to explore and one has little balls inside it so they rattle.
My baby loves this toy, it's quite heavy so when she was younger it was hard for her to lift and if she dropped it on herself like ...

This teething bee will keep baby busy! Each wing has a different texture for baby to explore. Teether can be placed in the refrigerator to cool water-filled section. Recommended for ages Birth+. Parents Magazine Best Toys of the Year. Features: The Bumble Bites Teether encourages development of communication skills through stimulation of the lips and tongue when baby explores the textures and shapes by mouth. Control of the lips and tongue is essential to the development of sound, and later, speech.Refrigerate the teether before giving it to baby to chill the water-filled wing. Cool only in a domestic refrigerator and do not place in the freezer compartment.
Talk to baby about the little bee. Tell baby about the different textures and colors on the wings. Baby loves to hear your voice. When baby puts the teether in her mouth, she can feel her lips and tongue against it. This helps baby to learn how her mouth works and will help when she begins to make sounds of her own.
