Savlon comes in two categories, the Antiseptic (blue bottle) and the disinfectant (brown bottle). The disinfectant is cheaper than the antiseptic. The disinfectant liquid is effective against everyday household germs. It can be used in lavatories, sinks, drains, wastebins, dustbins, on floors, kitchen, bathroom and hard surfaces where hygiene is of crucial importance. It can effectively be used throughout the entire home.
Savlon Disinfectant Liquid may also be used for personal hygiene or bathing to cleanse the skin and protect against germs.
Its much more gentle than say, Dettol (which some people still prefer for their own personal reasons) which stings more. Savlon, unlike Dettol, is safe to use on open wounds, as its less harsh. Dettol has been known to kill white blood corpuscles (which fight off germs and diseases in the body), which by comparison, makes Savlon the less harmful product.
