"Instant Protection and Relief From Infection"

Savlon Dry Antiseptic Spray is the perfect way to prevent infection after minor cuts, grazes and burns.

It comes in a small 50ml spray can, about 5 inches tall and cost me about £3 from co-op pharmacy. The spray itself is a fine antiseptic powder. It's ideal as a 'no-touch' first aid treatment. Very good for children, as they offten refuse to allow you to touch their wounds, so a spray is very convienient.

What does the spray do?
********************

The spray forms a protective layer that helps to prevent any infection and apparently aids natural healing. I like the idea of using a spray, it makes it very easy to apply, as do sun protection sprays.

What can the spray be used on?
***************************

* Minor cuts, grazes and burns.
  • Friction burns from synthetic surfaces, concreate, or grass.
  • Abrasions caused through gardening or DIY.

When should it NOT be used?
*************************

The spray is not for use near the eyes or nose, on deep wounds or on babies under 1 month of age. Nor is it applicable to use if you are sensitive to iodine or suffering from thyroid disease.

How effective is it?
******************

I used this when I went down a 'death slide' at a theme park and got a friction burn. It stung a little initially, but seemed to help it heel quickly soon after. I also used it on my nephew, when he fell over running on the grass. He squealed at first, but seemed to forget about the burn soon after too.

I think it most definetly helped and is worth carrying around as part of a first aid kit. As I've already said, spray's are much more effective than creams. They're easier to apply and more efficient.

Sounds as if it's handy to have around. I think I ought to get some, just in case!
