Today, friends I have decided to share the pleasures of SAVLON ANTISEPTIC WOUND WASH. *********************************************
After recently having my belly button Pierced, yippee! "I FINALLY PLUCKED UP THE COURAGE!" it is not recommended to change your bar until at least three months after piercing! But Savlon has helped me tremendously with the healing process.
So here goes!
The Packaging ************************ I got down from the pierces bed to be handed an 100 ml bottle of a transparent blue colour, the front of the bottle has large words "Savlon" leaving you no doubt what the brand name is. Atop this is a pink logo with a white family on it in white, Underneath the words Savlon, it states antiseptic wound wash in smaller letters. then beneath this it states Chlorhexidine Gluconate Obviously should be avoided if allergic to Chlorhexidine To top it all off, a pretty pink see through top proudly sits covering a push button spray nozzle.
How to use ******************
Savlon antiseptic wound wash is a ready-to-use liquid antiseptic with a convenient pump action spray. It protects against infection by cleansing and killing bacteria in cuts, grazes and minor wounds. It effectively washes out dirt and debris without the need to touch sore or broken skin.
wound wash should be used to clean wounds, twice a day One 100ml bottle should last you about a month of twice daily wound washing.
Spray onto the affected area and flood the area to wash the debris away. This will clean out any wounds and help speed up the healing process. A small word of caution! it does sting slightly, but its not uncomfortable, so I cant see many children liking it. I was also told to spray the cooton bud to wipe around piercing hole, but being lazy i frefure to have a tissue at the ready and spray my wound What Savlon can be use for ******************************
Navel Piercings
Blisters and sores
Cuts and grazes
Insect bites and stings
Minor burns and scolds
Price ******************
If like me you get a piercing, the piercer, will try and sell you some Savlon, to clean out the piercing with (usually at inflated prices, ) so decline whatever they offer and get it from your local supermarket or chemist. I paid £4.00 for mine not knowing much about the product, but it will usually retail for around £2.50p
The smell *************** The smell is quite pleasant and reassuring, whilst remaining discreet. You can confidently use Savlon, just before leaving for your wildest party rest assured you smell of nothing more than you favourite perfume/aftershave. I would say, there is ever such a slight tinge of a lemony hint to the spray.
Cautions. ************* like any other products, it is unadvisable to spray Savlon up your nose, or try to wash out your eyes, I would imagine this would be very painful. Also as scrummy as the bottle looks, you should also avoid drinking Savlon. Should you do so, this should be flushed with plenty of water or milk and seek advice from your doctor immediately. Other Savlon Products ************************* Plasters Dressings Antiseptic Cream Dry Spray Antiseptic Wipes
I would highly recommend Savlon wound wash spray for navel piercing, I was extremely worried about having it done because of all the horror stories I have heard about due to infection, but Savlon Antiseptic wash nursed me back to health
thank you all dear friends for reading with love michele x x
Advantages: Nice clean smell, effective, bright coloured bottle, extremely handy. Disadvantages: Doesn't do as much as the cream.
...and that ever so important Savlon antiseptic cream for any cuts I might get during the following week. Being that little bit neurotic, and always one for killing two birds with one stone (as long as it saves time and effort), my eyes lit up and glazed over when I saw this genius product – why had they not thought of this before?!
When I got my darling bottle home, I immediately dug out the once trusty but now simply obsolete simple blue tube ... ...realize that comparing these two Savlon products is a little unfair but I feel it imperative in order to make the following point compellingly: the wound wash is excellent for a first aid kit or a similar use but other than that, I would take the time to use the cream.

...This was due to the savlon spray. I’d lied down and sprayed this in to my navel each morning and night and lay until most of it had been absorbed in to my skin, before wiping away the excess with a cotton bud. After a further month I felt that my belly button had healed enough for me to change the bar. However, it is not recommended to change your bar until at least three months after piercing, so don’t try this at home.
I haven’t only used this ... ...through bottle with a huge savlon written on the front. It has a pink cap and a pink logo with a family on it. This is available from Boots, superdrug and of course Lloyds Pharmacy, where they have very nice staff. lol.
I would recommend this to any family, especially with children, as they always seem to have cuts and grazes especially around the knees and elbows! Oh and btw, this has the same smell as good old savlon, which reminds me of my childhood.lol. ...

...recommended to me to use Savlon Wound Wash. You just need to spray it on to pierced area about every two-three hours and wipe with a cotton bud. It was so much easier to keep my piercing clean as I could carry around the product in my handbag, and just a quick spray under your top means that its discreet to used as well. It doesn't smell antiseptic or anything like that and it worked wonders on my piercing, whcih healed up within a month. The only ...

Savlon antiseptic woundwash
I bought this on the recommendation of a friend with equally adventurous children!
My son seems to hurt himself on a daily basis, usually falling off something. The world is his climbing frame!
The worst thing to deal with is a large open graze that is covered in grit as it needs to come out, but how?
Savlon!!!!!
It used to be a horrible business trying to get all of the muck out of an open wound but now all I need is a few squirts of 'magic water' and all the badness flows out and the wound is cleaned and ready for a plaster.
The bottle itself is tall and slim in a transparent blue shade, the lid is the same but in a contrasting pink which looks really pretty!
It has a standard spray dispenser.
It can be used for washing out and cleansing wounds, cuts, grazes and minor abrasions. Also ...

days and regularly apply Savlon cream (or E45). They even sell it in the tattoo parlours. I had this image of all these heavily tattooed men buying a little tube and asking their wives to gently rub some Savlon in their fresh wounds. In fact the whole time I was in the shop, it was only women having tattoos and piercings! I can highly recommend it for this use, as my tattoo has completely healed now (2 weeks later).

Are There Any Side Effects?
There are very few side effects but Centrimide may cause local irritation or allergic reactions if you have sensitive skin, if swallowed it may cause nausea and vomiting whilst Chlorhexidine Gluconate has very few known side effects but it can cause skin rashes if you have particularly sensitive skin.
