This helps my cars leap through the air like a flying machine Review with images 30 of 30 Ciao Users found the following review helpful

Advantages It makes it more fun for me

Disadvantages Nothing

I have a lovely little accessory for my Scalextric tracks and this is a C8211 Leap part. I paid £9.50 for this little accessory and it adds a lot of excitement for me when I am playing with my set, either by myself or with my granddaughter. The leap is made of plastic and steel, just like the other accessories for my track and it is a genuine Scalextric part. It is a scale 1:32 just like everything else I have and it is well made and very good quality, I find. It is very durable and very good quality like all the Scalextric things I own.

This leap is only suitable though for the analogue track and not any good for the digital one, though I do have both. It is very easy to fit and it just slots into the standard track and then it is ready to launch my lovely little slot cars. Some cars, I have found, work better than others. For example, I have a General Lee Dukes of Hazard Car which I bought from the model shop and I find that it works very well for this and it allows the car to jump right through the air and then back onto the tracks again at the other end, without any bother at all.

I would never say to try one of my Formula One Racing cars on this leap though, because these cars were never designed to go leaping about, they are just designed to stay on the Scalextric track and go around and around at the highest and fastest speeds they can possibly get to. If I wanted to make a Formula One car leap it would be silly and far too unrealistic.

The ramp picks up the current from my track and I have now practiced so much with this leap that I have found that if I drive my little Dukes of Hazard car fast enough, I can get it to jump right through the gap and land perfectly onto the tracks at the other end. My granddaughter loves it when I do this and now she is managing to do it herself too. The trick is to keep adjusting the track to get the best of the flying from the car, and if I widen the gap then the General Lee car will go flying much further and this impresses me a lot.

I also have a lovely little Raleigh set up where I have cars that go racing through the forest and I have all the background scenery for this to and I make my own models to scale. I have found that if I chose the right cars it works well on my Raleigh set up because these cars are the perfect size to do the leaps.

I think this is a lovely little addition to add to the Scalextric tracks and it makes watching the cars go around the tracks so much more fun if you ca get them to do tricks aswell.

This is a lovely find and I am so glad I bought it.

I recommend this to you.
